Among those slated to attend the event are poker pro Chris Bell, a professional poker player from Raleigh, North Carolina who won the 2010 World Series of Poker $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better event; CSOP founder and poker pro Matt Stout; and Executive Tour Director of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Matt Savage.

It's a fitting stop for Savage, who is a noted golf aficionado who has played the game all over the world. This Sunday, he’ll have the opportunity to experience the Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) firsthand!

The VGA is more than just a golf community—it's a family that brings veterans and their loved ones together through the game of golf. With over 1,500 tournaments nationwide, VGA fosters camaraderie, connection, and healing for more than 20,000 members. Each swing is a step toward building strong bonds, supporting one another, and creating lifelong memories. Whether you’re a veteran or a supporter, you can be part of a community that champions our heroes on and off the course.

"The Veterans Golfers Association helps organize nearly 2,000 golf tournaments for veterans per year, and this is the first time adding a poker tournament to the mix."

The V Foundation for Cancer Research, established by ESPN and Jim Valvano, is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to funding innovative cancer research. Since its inception in 1993, the foundation has awarded over $310 million in research grants nationwide. With a mission to drive significant progress in the fight against cancer, the V Foundation directs 100% of all direct donations to cancer research and related programs. Through its powerful message of hope and resilience, the V Foundation is committed to accelerating the path to cures and improving the lives of cancer patients everywhere.

"I'm excited to move the CSOP's operations into North Carolina for the first time ever. The Veterans Golfers Association helps organize nearly 2,000 golf tournaments for veterans per year, and this is the first time adding a poker tournament to the mix,” Stout told PokerNews. “I also grew up in the NYC area where Jim Valvano is from and remember hearing about his V Foundation for Cancer Research, so it's an honor and privilege to help raise money for his great organization. We've all been impacted by cancer in one way or another, unfortunately, and it's a fight I love being a part of."
