PokerStars Season

The PokerStars Stars Season burst into life this weekend with a trio of Terminator PKO tournaments and the first event boasting a seven-figure prize pool, the Season Kickoff Sunday Million PKO. Including the trio of Super Tuesdays and the three Daily Cooldowns on October 29, Stars Season has already paid PokerStars players $1,867,988!

A significant percentage of that impressive sum was awarded during the $1 million guaranteed Season Kickoff Sunday Million PKO, which saw all but one of the nine finalists walk away with five-figure prizes, including the champion's $83,347.

First Stars Season Sunday Million Title Goes to Thailand

The $109 Season Kickoff Sunday Million PKO drew in 9,756 entrants during its Day 1, with only 80 of those starters progressing to Day 2. A trio of PokerStars Ambassadors finished in the money places, but fell short of a Day 2 appearance. Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis went the deepest of that trio, falling in 102nd place, leaving him free to concentrate on the trio of Terminator events he was hosting at the time.

Romania's "marinusmacy24" was the first Sunday Million finalist to fall by the wayside; they saw $7,230 land in their PokerStars account.

"FrittssoN4" of Sweden ($11,558) was the next to bust, followed by "MichailJapon" ($11,628), "Nooreek26" ($17,979), and the first of two Belarusians "BRP-37" ($22,241).

The final four grinders became three with the demise of "MpZancan", who won $30,352, and then two with Belarus' "Rb)bolov" busting in third for $51,038.

Heads-up pitted "animalridens" of Thailand against "Gyan Yellov" of Brazil. Both players locked in over $54,500 from the main prize pool, leaving the substantial bounties left to play for. Those bounties, $28,792 worth, went to "animalridens," who scooped a total prize worth $83,347. Runner-up "Gyan Yellov" netted a still welcomed $57,536.

Stars Season Results So Far

Before "animalridens" triumphed in the Sunday Million, the Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis-hosted a trio of Terminator PKO episodes. They came with buy-ins of $11, $55, and $215, and all three proved hugely popular.

"mirodelas7" took down the $11 edition, outlasting 7,571 opponents en route to winning $6,385. It was "sejedno" who came out on top in the $55 Terminator, claiming an $18,461 prize after overcoming 3,175 opponents.

The $215 edition was won by "&REW21," who, including bounty payments, turned their initial investment into $32,191.

Shout-out, too, to "Fiktenasch," who turned $11 into a $10,334 haul by being the last player standing in the Stars Season edition of the Sunday Storm.

Yesterday, October 29, Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot hosted an $11, $109, and $1,050 edition of the Super Tuesday, which paid out a combined $204,399.
