Instead of buying a pre-packaged deal, these passports just top up your Passport Dollars wallet. You can use those Passport Dollars by selecting some events from a WPT-branded festival, apply to use some of your dollars as expenses, and create a custom package for yourself. Any leftover Passport Dollars can be left in your Passport Dollars wallet and saved for use on another event, series, or festival. It's as easy as that.
Because WPT Global is the official partner of the World Poker Tour, the events on which these Passport Dollars can be spent are all around the globe — almost every WPT or WPT Prime festival is included. You can even use your Passport Dollars to enter select online or hybrid events like WPT Global Online Festivals and the hybrid WPT OnLive events, which have an online Day 1, then move to an live venue for Day 2 onward.
Passport Dollars can either be used to enter one tournament or festival or broken down to play multiple tournaments or festivals. This flexibility is the biggest change to the passport system yet.
Earning WPT Passport Dollars
You earn Passport Dollars by winning WPT Passports. These can be won by working your way up from stepped satellites that start from as low as $11. The $11 Satellites run directly into a $110 final qualifier that is held on Sunday at 2:40 p.m. Eastern Time each week.
Players can also directly enter the three weekly $1,060 WPT Passport Dollar tournaments, which are held every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
In these events, players can win $12,400 WPT Passport or a $1,500 WPT Prime Passport each of which can be used to top up their Passport Dollars wallet and then be used to construct one's own tournament package.
