What does a PokerNews Live Reporter do?
Our live reporters travel the globe to bring fans live coverage of poker’s biggest events. The PokerNews team is the exclusive live reporting partner of the WSOP and an official live reporting partner for PokerStars and other major events around the world.
We are currently accepting writing samples as we solidify our team leading up to the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas. The Ideal Candidate
- A passion for poker and its players
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Able to work independently and be self-motivated
- Capable of adapting and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Prior writing experience is great, but we train motivated candidates
- 21 years of age or older
Live Reporter Responsibilities
- Provide real-time coverage of live or online poker events and series
- Work directly with our editorial team to preview and recap events daily
- Conduct interviews with winners and other notable poker players
- Other opportunities to contribute editorial coverage to PokerNews
- Available to travel to events around the world

What's In It For You?
Live reporters are compensated with a day rate on a per-event basis. You'll join a team that travels to Las Vegas in the summer, plus other events worldwide all year long to bring live updates to our readers. Additionally, PokerNews compensates live reporters for their travel time, accommodations, and living expenses throughout events.
How To Get Involved
If you think joining the PokerNews live reporting team might be right for you, submit a writing sample that meets the following criteria:
Answer the prompt: “In your own words, recap the record-breaking 2023 WSOP Main Event”.
Consider the following guidelines for your submission:
- No more than 500 words in length
- A short introduction with main points covered
- Highlight a pivotal hand from the event
- Give historical context to the field size
- Cover the bracelet-winning moment
- A short conclusion looking ahead to 2024
- Your writing sample should be submitted in Word or PDF format
- Include your name only. Other contact information is not necessary until later in the process, and we will respond via email
- Please do not submit a CV/resume until requested
