WPT & Artist Daniel Arsham Hosting Charity Poker Event In New York
Poker players and art lovers in New York City have a lot to look forward to as the World Poker Tour (WPT) and American artist Daniel Arsham are hosting a charity poker event at one of the most celebrated art galleries in the world later this month.
The event, taking place on Sept. 29 at Perrotin in New York, features a $2,500 buy-in poker tournament and coincides with a major solo exhibition by Arsham that will be on display. Proceeds for the event will go to Arsham's alma mater, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
The event is the latest in WPT's partnership with Arsham, a contemporary artist known for his sculptures who designed this year's WPT Season XXI trophies.

“It is an honor to host a charity poker event at Perrotin as we bring together the worlds of poker and art,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a press release. “Thank you to Daniel for sparking this endeavor to benefit The Cooper Union and lending his influence to the World Poker Tour.”
The poker event will be emceed by WPT commentator Tony Dunst and coincides with Arsham's exhibition 20 Years that celebrates his 20th anniversary of collaborating with Emmanuel Perrotin. The exhibition will be on display at Perrotin New York from Sept. 6-Oct. 14 and at Perrotin Paris Sept. 2-Oct.7.
