"MrBoJinglez" Takes Away $10,074 and Title of 888poker XL Autumn Opening Event Champion
Table Of Contents
The $2 million guaranteed XL Autumn Series kicked off at 888poker over the weekend, and one of the first tournaments was the massive $109 buy-in $120,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Opening Event. The tournament attracted 1,142 entrants, leaving 888poker nursing a slight overlay on the $120,000 guarantee.
Day 1 saw the bumper field whittled to only eight hopefuls, and those eight finalists returned to the virtual felt on September 18 to crown the worthy champion. Thanks to the huge $12,000 jackpot mystery bounty payment, two players padded their bankrolls with five-figure scores, including the champion, "MrBoJinglez" of Cyprus.
$120,000 Mystery Bounty Opening Event Final Table Results
Rank | Player | Country | Bounties | Prize | Total Prize |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | MrBoJinglez | Cyprus | $1,308 | $8,766 | $10,074 |
2 | Kzzzon | Sweden | $936 | $6,408 | $7,344 |
3 | Yoshiaki97 | Peru | $1,620 | $4,710 | $6,330 |
4 | Nocturne11 | United Kingdom | $252 | $3,462 | $3,714 |
5 | TheMufinMan | New Zealand | $336 | $2,562 | $2,898 |
6 | Elvishquarry | Canada | $420 | $1,908 | $2,328 |
7 | Herr_Iago | Ireland | $1,236 | $1,434 | $2,670 |
8 | HARBOURBOY64 | Canada | $12,972 | $1,086 | $14,058 |
"HARBOURBOY64" played the first few hands before apparently experiencing connection issues because they were sat out almost until the point they busted. After almost 30 minutes of action, "HORBOURBOY64" reconnected but found themselves with only three big blinds. They went into the middle with seven-five, which lost to the pocket kings of "Yoshiaki97," who made four-of-a-kind by the river. "HARBOURBOY64" will have been disappointed to crash out so early, but they did scoop the $12,000 bounty on Day 1, and ended up walking away with more prize money than any other entrant.
A few seconds later, "Herr_Iago" shoved from the cutoff for almost six big blinds with ace-eight, and "MrBoJinglez" called in the big blind with suited ace-six. A six on the flop was enough to reduce the player count once again.
Sixth place went to "Elvishquarry," who lost all but six big blinds on a coinflip with "Kzzzon" then the rest of their stack with suited king-ten against suited queen-jack of "Yashiaki97."
New Zealand's "TheMufinMan" shoved from the small blind with king-eight and lost to the ace-king of "Nocturne11" in the big blind. That loss left "TheMufinMan" with less than one big blind, and they busted two hands later.

The final four became three with the elimination of "Nocturne11." The action folded to "Kzzzon" in the small blind, and they opened to 2.5 big blinds with ace-jack. "Nocturne11" three-bet shoved from the big blind for 15.5 big blinds, but with the dominated ace-five of diamonds. A jack on the turn left "Nocturne11" drawing dead.
The $120,000 Mystery Bounty Opening event progressed to heads-up when "Yoshiaki97" bowed out at the hands of "MrBoJinglez." "Yoshiaki97" min-raised on the button with pocket tens before shoving for 20 big blinds when "MrBoJinglez" three-bet from the small blind. Unfortunately for "Yoshiaki97," that initial three-bet was made with pocket kings, which held to send the Peruvian to the sidelines in third.
"MrBoJinglez" held a narrow chip lead going into the one-on-one battle with "Kzzzon," who sat down at the eight-handed final table with the shortest stack. "Kzzzon" forced their way level, then in front, and looked most likely to take down the tournament. However, a huge hand that saw "MrBoJinglez" make a flush against the set of their opponent flipped the stacks around and gave the eventual champion a significant advantage.
The final hand took place soon after. "Kzzzon" ripped in 10.4 big blinds with ace-four, and "MrBoJinglez" snap-called with pocket queens. The five community cards ran out with five hearts, with "MrBoJinglez" holding a heart. Game over for "Kzzzzon" and game on for "MrBoJinglez."
