The Festival in Malta

It is fair to say that The Festival has taken the live poker scene by storm. The brainchild of Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk, The Festival is a live poker series like no other. Not only does it features dozens of so-called traditional poker tournaments, but also hosts blackjack, roulette, and sports betting tournaments, in addition to the ever-popular Cash Game Festival.

The Festival jets off to the Mediterranean from May 14-21 for The Festival in Malta, the latest stop on this super-exciting tour. The Portomaso Casino will be full to bursting while The Festival is in town, and you could be one of the hundreds of poker players fighting it out for the lion's share of the €550 buy-in Main Event's prize pool, and doing so for as little as $1.10 thanks to WPT Global.

The €550 buy-in Main Event of The Festival in Malta runs from May 16-21, and it should award some impressive prizes. Martin Mauthner won the inaugural event in Bratislava in September 2021, and walked away with €56,870 after a heads-up deal.

Eirik Kristiansen banked €56,100 for his victory in Tallinn, while Michel Molenaar reeled in a The Festival record €126,650 after coming out on top of the Bratislava event in October 2022. More recently, in February 2023, Ignacio Menendez captured a £37,595 prize in Nottingham, which featured a £500 buy-in instead of €550.
