Parker Talbot

Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot is the latest member of the Team PokerStars stable that has come close to capturing a high-stakes 2023 PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) title. Talbot came close to becoming the $10,300 No-Limit Hold'em Progressive Knockout Thursday Thrill champion but ultimately had to make do with a sixth-place finish.

The Thursday Thrill kicked off on May 18 with 82 entries processed and an $820,000 prize pool created. As the event was a two-day affair, and Fridays are traditionally rest days during SCOOP, the final 11 players returned to the action on May 20 to complete the tournament.

"Stumpfed" and Joao "Naza114" Vieira were the first two players eliminated on Day 2, with Vieira's elimination setting the star-studded final table.

Greek star "dimiangelako" bowed out in ninth for $19,311 before the hot-running Ukrainian "ContraSpemSper0" and "Eccentric_BG" crashed out and collected "32,282 and $27,013, respectively.

Talbot, who started the day sixth in chips, busted in sixth place and reeled in a combined score worth $31,890. The popular streamer would later finish seventh in the SCOOP 64-H: $1,050 NLHE 6-Max for $10,086.

Fifth place and $48,576 went to Estonia's Juanki "B4NKR0LL3R" Vecino, Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv exited in fourth for $80,103 before Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson saw his tournament end in a third place finish worth $71,538.

Elias Gutierrez
Elias Gutierrez

Mattsson's untimely demise left Poland's "PAX176" against Japan-based Spaniard Elias "SinKarma" Gutierrez. Both players locked in more than $86,800 from the main prize pool, but the final bounties on offer totalled more than $110,000!

Gutierrez busted his final opponent and walked away with $205,563, which is the largest score of the 2023 SCOOP so far. PAX176's runner-up finish came with $137,438.

Dzivielevski Captures Second SCOOP Title of 2023

Yuri Dzivielevski
Yuri Dzivielevski

Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski's recent victory in the $10,300 Super Tuesday came with $205,131, which was the largest payout of the 2023 SCOOP until the aforementioned Gutierrez clinched the Thursday Thrill title on Saturday. Dzivielevski added his second 2023 SCOOP title and his third overall by coming out on top of a 60-strong field in the SCOOP 82-H: $5,200 PLO 6-Max High Roller.

Patrick "pads1161" Leonard reached the seven-handed final table, although his time there was limited because he crashed out in seventh place for $11,459. Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro ($14,800) and Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph ($21,385), a player that has excelled during the series, joined Leonard on the sidelines.

Heads-up was set after Norway's "jokee-apart" ($30,900) and Finland's "WRUUUUM" ran out of steam. Here, Dzivielevski locked horns and butted heads with Austrian "WhySo€erious" in what was essentially a $30,000 heads-up battle. Dzivielevski won the fight, and the Brazilian received $93,217 plus his second title of the series, leaving the runner-up to bank a $64,513 consolation prize.

Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Several massive events kicked off on May 21 but are two-day affairs, so they are yet to crown their champions. The $5,200 Titans event is one such tournament, and that is where Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis is hoping to finally win a SCOOP title because he sits down fifth in chips after satelliting his way in.

Shout-out to Tomi "elmerixx" Brouk for banking $104,924 by taking down the $1,050 NLHE PKO events late last week. This is Brouk's second career SCOOP title; he won his first last year in a $2,100 NLHE 8-Max event.
