PartyPoker Grand Prix Spring

The 2023 Grand Prix Spring series at PartyPoker is done and dusted, with all the festival's champions revelling in glory. Three players, in particular, are full of the joys of spring this morning, having triumphed in the trio of Grand Prix Spring Main Events on April 3.

The $55 buy-in Main Event featured a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, but a bumper crowd of 5,660 entrants meant PartyPoker awarded a cool $283,000 in this tournament. Of all those starters, only 834 players made it through to Day 2, doing so with a $110 min-cash in tow. That prize money increased to more than $2,700 by the time only nine players remained, while first-place paid close to $40,000, which is quite incredible for a $55 buy-in event.

"DownChunks" may not be in the red any more thanks to scooping $2,766 for their ninth-place finish. "Jake.Paul" was in his prime before being cut down in eighth ($3,478), while "pliezcallme" got called when they didn't really want to be and had to make do with a seventh-place finish ($4,484).

Sixth place went to "V4luueStonks" ($5,874) before "TenthTale" got their hands on the final four-figure score of the night ($8,101) when they bowed out in fifth. Then came the untimely demise of "II04 07 2012II" in fourth ($11,967), and "serious again" in third ($17,871), which left "PriaKids" in a one-on-one battle against "BoBelleMP."

Despite a $13,000 chasm between first and second-place prize money, there was no deal struck in the $55 buy-in Main Event. A lack of negotiations means BoBelleMP collected $26,589 when they fell in second, leaving PriaKids to pad their bankroll with $39,607.

CurryChips Devours the Opposition in Mini Main Event

PartyPoker called the $11 buy-in Main Event a Mini Main Event, but it was anything but that thanks to 7,165 players turning out in force and creating a $71,650 prize pool, some $21,650 more than the advertised guarantee.

All but two of the nine finalists won four-figure sums for their $11 investment. "Sitting-0ut" found themselves sat out permanently after busting in ninth ($662) while "TheNizzleRat99" was caught in eighth ($835).

"Startuppoker" ($1,073), "Krixoo" ($1,425), and "Forgando" ($1,981) were the next players relieved of their stack, before the untimely demises of "Barry Laser" ($2,928), and "Wenceslas88" ($4,375) sent the Mini Main Event into the heads-up stage.

Heads-up pitted "CurryChips" against "Mypoker." both players guaranteed themselves more than $6,500 but first-place weighed in at almost $3,200 more, or 320 buy-ins! After much scrapping it out, CurryChips found themselves in possession of all 716.5 million chips and, therefore, the $9,709 top prize. The Mini Main Event runner-up headed into the night having secured a $6,511 payday.

vengrPT Takes Down Micro Main Event

The $2.20 Grand Prix Spring Micro Main Event missed its $10,000 guarantee, but it came close after 4,518 PartyPoker players turned out across its dozens of starting flights. Unsurprisingly, the Micro Main Event ended in a heads-up deal, unsurprising because each of those final two players locked in four-figure sums for a mere $2.20 investment.

The history books will show "vengrPT" was the last player standing; they captured a prize worth $1,290. "SAFADA0" although the tournament's second-place finisher, will still be delighted by the fact the deal they negotiated resulted in $1,117 landing in their PartyPoker account.
