Players Win Big in PokerStars Ontario's Inaugural ONSCOOP

Players in Ontario had the opportunity to win one of the most coveted titles in online poker. PokerStars Ontanrio ran its first version of the Spring Championship Of Online Poker (ONSOOP) to great success.
The first tournaments started on March 25, and they didn't stop starting until late in the day on April 11. Each of the 43 events was split into three tournaments—a high-stakes version (H), a mid-stakes version (M), and a low-stakes version (L). By the time the last late reg closed, there were 129 ONSCOOP tournaments in total.
During Week One of the action, players fought it out in the first 45 ONSCOOP tournaments. Since then, another 84 tournament champions have been crowned. Some of these new champions earned the biggest payouts of the series.
With CA$1.8 million in guarantees on the line, PokerStars must have been pleased that turnout exceeded expectations for the most part. With very few exceptions—like 33-H $100 PKO, with $4.5k GTD but only 44 entries—prize pools hit or exceeded their guarantees.

"TruthBeTold7" Wins Six Events
The 2023 ONSCOOP had an old-school feel. With the smaller fields that come from regional restrictions, there was room for several players to make their mark with repeat appearances at final tables and by taking down multiple events.
The switched-on observer will have noticed names like "justgiveithere," "newguy89," and "fuzztacular" coming up again and again on the winner's podium.
There were quite a few of these repeat winners, though no one managed to put in quite as good a showing as "TruthBeTold7." They earned six first-place finishes.
Meanwhile, "TeeWee55" won four events, cashing for CA$46,955 (not including bounties) from their first-place finishes alone.

The 2023 ONSCOOP Main Event
The first ONSCOOP has been highly anticipated by the Canadian poker-playing community.
PokerStars is one of the biggest online poker websites in Ontario and the site's reputation was good for some large fields.
The largest of thse fields hit 898 entries for event 37-L: $50 ONSCOOP Main Event. However, the prize pools were biggest in 37-M: $300 ONSCOOP Main Event where the prize pool fell just short of the $150,000 guarantee after rake.
"7Phenom1991" took down that event for $26,641.50.
"TeeWee55" took down the high-stakes championship (37-H: $1,000 ONSCOOP Main Event) after cutting a heads-up deal. This was "TeeWee55's" fourth and final win of the 2023 ONSCOOP.
