The PokerStars US 2023 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is nearly two weeks in, and approximately 100 tournament – be them at either the High, Medium, or Low buy-in levels – are in the books!
The 2023 USA SCOOP is offering $5 million in guarantees across liquidities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan. The series features something for everyone, with 252 events across various buy-ins running from March 17-April 3, and culminating with a two-day $300 buy-in Main Event that gets underway April 2.
Below are some of the bigger stories to emerge from the series thus far.
Buzgon Claims Third NJ/MI Title; Lots of Two-Time Winners
In our last recap, we told you about the hot start of Daniel “loxonbagel” Buzgon, who on opening day topped a 304-entry field to win Event 01-L: $20 8-Game Championship for $1,049.15. The next day he bested a 282-entry field to win Event 04-H: $100 NLH Turbo PKO for $6,323.71. That was two titles for Buzgon in two days, plus he had a runner-up finish in Event 07-H: $500 NLH Sunday Special Championship for $15,448.22.
It took another week and a half for Buzgon to get back on the board, be he did so by winning Event 31-H: $100 5-Card PLO, $5K GTD – a tournament that drew 91 runners and offered up a $8,353.80 prize pool – for $1,996.31.
Another player to capture three titles is “Binkwen”, who first topped a 207-entry field to win Event 09-H: $300 NLH PKO, Battle Royale Championship for $11,213.51 on March 20. Then, on March 25, they navigated a 579-entry field to win Event 21-L: $30 NLH KO Speical Trainer PKO Turbo for $3,051.77. Finally, on March 29, “Binkwen” topped a 356-entry field to win Event 29-M: $100 NLH Storm Championship for $6,002.45.
There have also been numerous players that have captured two titles including “mcleskey”, “Tank Artist”, “LetsGoGlobal”, “Binkwen”, “cdubb1021”, “blueskyQ8”, “COBYElectronics”, “Patongboomboom”, and Benji “OtB_RedHeron” Felson.
One other big-name winner was Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski (lead image), who on March 27 bested a 164-entry field to win Event 26-H: $250 NLH Classic 9-Max for $7,693.60.

US SCOOPs Clear $1M in Prize Pools in Opening Weekend; Buzgon Wins Two Titles
Bilinsky, & Becker Among PokerStars PA SCOOP Winners
There have been no shortage of big winners on PokerStars PA as US SCOOP winds down, including "spaceman_723", who topped a field of 65 runners in the $50,000 guaranteed 12-H: $1,000 NLHE [Freezeout Championship] to take home the top prize of $19,187.24. The same evening, "Farnese x" took down the $25,000 guaranteed 12-M: $250 NLHE [Freezeout Championship] for $7,042.74.
Later in the series, Chris "petcheetah101" Bilinsky got through 321 players in the $7,500 guaranteed 15-M: $30 NLHE [6-Max, Turbo Storm] for $1,644.75. Bilinsky has been crushing on PokerStars PA as of late and took down a recent $100 Sunday Special for $11,309.
Another notable winner was former PokerStars Team Pro Online Keith "whoopsboom" Becker, who got through 436 players in the $3,000 guaranteed 17-L: $10 NLHE [4-Max] for $710.70.
There were also a few recent double winners, including "GeneralSpanks", who first took down the $25,000 guaranteed 16-H: $250 NLHE [Total KO Thrill] for $1,288.50 before nabbing another victory in the $12,500 guaranteed 17-H: $100 NLHE [4-Max] for $3,295.94.
After that, "KnightsofNight" won the $8,000 guaranteed 18-M: $30 NLHE [Rebuy + Addon] for $2,005.09 before taking down the $12,500 guaranteed 20-H: $100 NLHE [6-Max, Win the Button] for $2,878.35.
The biggest winner in Pennsylvania so far in this series is "redhanded77", who took down the $75,000 guaranteed 23-H: $1,000 NLHE [KO Special Championship] for $25,529.86.
But no one has had a better series than "TheBigSlick74", who has taken down three events including the recent 30-H: $100 NLHE [Turbo, 5-Max Total KO] for $4,630.83.
Another recent winner was "LetMeWin3437" (29-H: $200 NLHE [6-Max, Storm Championship] for $8,461.42), who notably won the 2020 PCOOP Main Event for $46,319.13.

What’s Coming Up?
Of the $5 million guaranteed prize money, $3 million will go to the Shared Liquidity pool of players in Michigan and New Jersey, while $2 million will be up for grabs on PokerStars PA.
In addition to the hundreds of tournament offerings, the series will feature more than 600 satellites into selected events starting from only $1, including a Depositor Freeroll and SCOOP Spin & Go's where the top prize multiplier awards $300 entries into the Main Event.
