Hank Yang, a Las Vegas poker player who frequented the Aria poker room, has passed away.

The news was announced on Twitter by Jesse Segall, who referred to the late poker player as "the most generous/friendly player around." That is the reputation Yang, originally from Virginia, built up over the years playing mostly cash game poker. His cause of death isn't publicly known at this time.

Yang was a regular in the cash games at Aria for years and built up a reputation as one of the classiest players in the room. He wasn't much for tournaments but did record $178,492 in career tournament cashes, according to the Hendon Mob.

His Hendon Mob results show just three total cashes, his last being a 40th-place finish for $12,496 in a $3,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em event at the WPT World Championships last month at Wynn Las Vegas.

Yang's other two cashes were in $10,000 buy-in events. The first was a runner-up finish in a pot-limit Omaha tournament at 2021 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio in 2021 for $115,500, a career-best score. And the other was at the 2022 World Series of Poker, a 15th-place finish for $50,496 also in a PLO tournament.

In 2018, Yang made an appearance on Poker After Dark on PokerGO, one of the most popular poker cash game shows of all-time. He competed in a $20,000 minimum buy-in game against players such as Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, and he walked away with a profit of over $100,000, the most at the table.

Felipe Ramos wrote some kind words about Yang in response to Segall's tweet.

"Your tweet just showed in my timeline. Hank has to be top 0,00001% people in the history of humanity. This just hit me really hard. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family. I'm following you, please let me know if you discover more. TY for the honorable tweet and nice words," Ramos tweeted at Segall.

PokerNews would like to send our condolences to the friends and family of Hank Yang.
