PartyPoker Launches the Ontario Poker Championships on Sept. 11
Poker players living in Ontario, Canada, have been thoroughly enjoying playing at PartyPoker for a couple of months now, but that enjoyment is set to go through the roof from this weekend because PartyPoker is hosting its first major Ontario-only poker festival, the Ontario Poker Championships.
The inaugural Ontario Poker Championships run from September 11 through September 26 at PartyPoker's Ontario-only online poker site. Only players physically located in Ontario can play in the series due to the licensing laws in the Canadian province. However, it is possible to compete in the Ontario Poker Championships events at PartyPoker, bwin, and BetMGM, as they are Entain brands and enjoy shared player pools.

The Ontario Poker Championships doffs its cap to the PartyPoker.com series' with a wide variety of formats, including 8-Max, 7-Max, and 6-Max tables, in addition to Progressive Knockouts, Turbo and Hyper-Turbo blind structures. There literally is something for everyone during the upcoming series.
PartyPoker Ontario Poker Championships Highlights
Each and every one of the Ontario Poker Championships events deserves your attention, but there are a handful of tournaments that stand out from the crowd.
The Opener kicks the festival off on September 11 at 5:05 p.m. local time. The Opener comes with buy-ins of $2.20, $11, and $55, and guaranteed prize pools of $250, $1,000, and $5,000 respectively.
Then there are The Closer PKO events, which bring the Ontario Poker Championships to a thrilling conclusion. Buy in for $5.50, $22, or $109, and fight it out with your fellow Ontarians for a share of the $750, $2,500, and $5,000 guaranteed prize pools.
No festival worth its salt would be complete without a Main Event, and the Ontario Poker Championships has three of them sandwiched between The Opener and The Closer. Again, the Main Events come with three buy-in levels of $5.50, $22, and $109, and they feature impressive guarantees that tip the scales at $5,000, $10,000, and a cool $50,000.
Throw into the mix the popular Weekender tournaments each Friday through Sunday, and you have all the hallmarks of an incredible online poker festival.
Steve Spindler is the Canadian Regional Manager for Partypoker, and he cannot wait to see Ontarian poker players hit the PartyPoker virtual felt over the next couple of weeks.
"It gives us great pleasure to being the excitement of a PartyPoker series to players in Ontario with the Ontario Poker Championships," said Spindler. "With at least 16 starting flights for all versions of the Main Event, chances to qualify from $0.01 and a mix of formats on the schedule, this should be the perfect opening series for players to enjoy. I look forward to seeing our Ontario players at the tables."
