The largest series in BetMGM Poker history recently wrapped in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The inaugural BetMGM Poker Online Championships, which ran from Sept. 15-25, was comprised of 42 events (14 in each state) and catered to a combined 2,865 entries and awarded $1,732,705 in prize money.

The three Online Championships took place just a few months after the inaugural BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, where Joey Weissman triumphed through a field of 343 players to win the BetMGM trophy and $224,236.

Here are some highlights from the recent online series.

BetMGM NJ

The BetMGM Poker Online Championships concluded in New Jersey with the $1,000 Championship. The tournament attracted 181 entrants who generated a $171,950 prize pool. However, given it was a $250K GTD tournament the field enjoyed a $78,050 overlay!

The top 24 players made the money with a min-cash being worth $2,330, while $59,975 awaited the winner. The tournament was structured to last two days, so after Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski bubbled in 25th place, the tournament went on an overnight break.

At that point, Alex "Hashtag_Hashtag" Rocha had the big stack with 1,620,642, which was just slightly ahead of the 1,605,451 held by “Minutz”. Others with decent stacks were Derek "pompii" Sudell (1,590,281), Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd (786,016), and Drew "maniacalmonk" O'Connell (533,883), just to name a few. On the other end of the spectrum, Dan “mj23style” Sewnig was the short stack with 223,748.

Sewnig managed to ladder up a bit to 20th place for $2,582.50, while Rocha’s lead only took him to 11th place for $4,000, which was a bit better than the 13th-place finish of “Minutz” for $3,125. Meanwhile, both Dodd and Sudell (lead photo) used their big stacks to go deep with the former, who had already won two titles in the series, taking fourth place for $22,125, and the latter going all the way to win the tournament for $59,975.
