Casino de Marrakech

The famous Casino de Marrakech will be packed to the rafters from September 2 through September 11 when the Marrakech Poker Open returns with a bustling 23 tournament schedule.

Casino de Marrakech is no stranger to hosting prestigious poker festivals and the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on the ground in Marrakech to report on the Main Event.

The last time PokerNews were at the Casino de Marrakech was in January 2020, for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) International Circuit. It's DH 15,000 buy-on Main Event saw Italy's Samiyel Duzgun outlast 624 opponents and scoop DH 1,600,000 ($169,018).

From September 2-11, the excellent staff at Casino de Marrakech are doing everything in their power to make the 2022 Marrakech Poker Open a roaring success. The festival kicks off with the MPO Opener, a two-day event costing DH 4,000 (€400) to enter.

The DH 5,000 (€500) MPO Warm-Up Deepstack follows the opener before the crown jewel of the Marrakech Poker Open, the DH 13,200 (€1,300) buy-in Main Event shuffles up and deals. There are two starting flights in the MPO Main Event, running on September 8 and September 9. Everyone sits down with a generous helping of 30,000 chips and play to a 40-minute clock. Re-entries are permitted on each flight up to the end of the tenth level, which is when late registration slams shut.

Sandwiched between the MPO Main Event and the crowning of its champion are the DH 20,000 (€2,000) buy-in High Roller, the DH 30,000 (€3,000) Super High Roller, and a host of other exciting side events, including a progressive bounty, classic bounty, Monster Stack, and a short-handed tournament.
