If you're hoping Doyle Brunson will sign a copy of Super System for you, good luck with that after the poker legend discovered his autograph is up for sale on eBay.
The 10-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner was perturbed to find out that multiple "fans" were attempting to flip his autograph on the e-commerce platform. As such, he understandably threatened to stop signing for his fans.

Doyle Brunson Autos for Sale
A search of eBay shows there are over 70 items with Brunson's hand-signed autograph up for sale, ranging from playing cards to photos. Asking prices are going anywhere from $37 to $400, depending on the item. Of course, those are just for-sale prices and not sold prices. Anyone can list an item on eBay for any amount they want, but that doesn't guarantee they'll find a buyer.
Brunson often accepts mail from fans asking for autographs and he has always been generous in adhering to the request. But those days may be over as he's bothered that some are attempting to make money off his signature.
Multiple poker fans on Twitter pointed out that Brunson refusing to sign autographs in the future would elevate the value of the current eBay listings — simple supply and demand concept. Some of the higher end Brunson autographs on eBay have even been graded and authenticated.
"It sucks that they're profiting off your name and your kindness, I feel that. But just remember that a lot of people do cherish those things from you, and that's why there's a market for them as well, and I think that joy real fans get is worth dealing with scammers/scalpers," @CadeCottrell wrote in response to Brunson's tweet.
"Little does he realize that by stopping signing he increases the value for those sellers because his autograph is now tougher to obtain," @BigWillySyles_ argues.
"Sorry to hear that Doyle! Had the pleasure of meeting you in Abilene during my time as an Assistant Football Coach there 2008-2011. 1st class all the way!" Steve Barrows (@FBCoachBarrows) tweeted.
Well, that’s your right, but what a shame to miss out on the opportunity to maybe impact someone’s life for the bet… https://t.co/sDX4f3bM2w

Doyle Absent from 2022 World Series of Poker
Brunson didn't sign any autographs at the 2022 WSOP because he wasn't in attendance. The Poker Hall of Famer, who turns 89 next month, flirted with the idea of competing in some this summer but inevitably decided against it due to COVID-19 concerns. He did, however, announce "shuffle up and deal" via a pre-recorded video to start the final day of the Main Event.
"Texas Dolly" is now a World Poker Tour ambassador and remains active in the poker community. He was a frequent participant on High Stakes Poker earlier this year and appeared in a few events at the 2021 WSOP, including the Main Event in which he reached Day 3.
As has been his motto since the early Poker After Dark days, "we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing."
