WPT Asia Online

The WPT Asia Online, Presented by Poker King gets underway this week, kicking off on Friday, November 12. There is a massive ¥15 million ($2,300,000*) guaranteed across 15 events and is headlined by the Main Event, which has a ¥10 million ($1,500,000*) guarantee of it's own.

This WPT online series comes off the back of the WPT World Online Championships which saw Rok Gostisa stun David Peters in heads-up play to take down Event #7: $5,300 Main Event for $959,493. In the same series, Ole Schemion emerged as the victor of Event #12: $25,500 Super High Roller Championship for $388,708.

WPT Asia Online Mini Main Event & Main Event

The Mini Main Event and of course the Main Event are the pick of the litter for this upcoming online poker festival.

The Mini Main Event starts on November 14 and has two starting flights, Day 2 will resume on November 16 where play will last until a winner is crowned. Day 1a and Day 1b will finish when 25% of the field remain.

This event has a guarantee of ¥1,000,000 ($156,500*) which makes is the joint second highest guarantee of the series, alongside Event 2: NLHE (¥1m GTD) and Event 15: The Closer (¥1m GTD). The Mini Main Event gets our featured pick over the latter mentioned events due to its sizeable prizepool and more accessible buy-in of ¥550 ($86*).

As the Mini Main Event comes to its conclusion, the first Day 1 flight of the Main Event begins on November 16, playing the Main Event will set you back ¥2,200 ($344*). In total, there are seven starting flights with Day 1e and Day 1g operating under a turbo format. Like the Mini Main Event, these starting flights will also end when the field reaches it's last 25% of players.

Day 2 takes place on November 21 and will go on until the final table. The finalists will then battle it out for the title and lion's share of the prize pool on November 22, which will be livestreamed in both English and Mandarin.

Interestingly, a player will receive a special bounty if they knock out Poker King ambassadors Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Dvoress, Steve Aoki or Lynn Gilmartin in the Main Event.
