On Monday night, PokerGO aired the latest episode of "Poker After Dark” Season 13, which was Part 3 of “Feeding Franzi.”

The seven-handed game, which started two weeks ago, was $50/$100 no-limit hold’em with a $100 big blind ante. The minimum buy-in was $10,000 with no max.

Nick Wright, the host of FS1’s “First Things First”, recently lost his High Stakes Duel III match to Phil Hellmuth, but returned here for his PAD debut. He was joined by Eli Elezra, Maria Ho, poker couple Joelle Parenteau and Daniel Weinand, Hish Salama, and the man for which the episode was named Zach Franzi.

If you recall from our recap two weeks, Franzi was on a bit of a heater while both Elezra and Wright were struggling to get anything going. Meanwhile, in last week's recap, Ho was able to gain some momentum thanks to pocket aces.

Here’s a look at the stack sizes shortly into the latest episode:

PlayerCounts
Zach Franzi$54,950
Hish Salama$28,075
Maria Ho$21,075
Nick Wright$20,450
Eli Elezra$20,425
Daniel Weinand$16,650
Joelle Parenteau$8,825

Below is a look at five of either the biggest or most interesting hands from this week's episode.

Wright Pays Off Weinand

In the first hand of the episode, Wright straddled for $200 and defended with his J8 after Weinand had raised the button to $700 holding the Q3. It was heads-up action to a flop of K4J and Wright checked his middle pair. Weinand coyly checked his spade flush draw behind, which he hit after the dealer burned and turned the 7.

Wright was first to act and bet $600, which Weinand raised to $1,700. Wright opted to call and then checked the 5 on the river.

Weinand tossed out $4,200 and Wright thought for a bit before paying it off. With that, Weinand claimed the $13,450 pot.

Ho raised to $300 and Wright called with his 64. Franzi came along with the J9 before Parenteau looked down at the AA in the cutoff and made it $1,500 to go. Action folded back to Ho, who called, and Wright got out of the way. Franzi opted to call and it was three-way action to a flop of 782.

Two checks saw Parenteau continue for $2,500, Ho called with her overpair, and Franzi did the same with his gutshot straight draw. The 5 turn changed nothing and two checks put action back on Parenteau, who bet half her remaining stack by tossing out $5,000.

Ho called, Franzi released, and the 4 completed the board on the river. Action went check-check and Parenteau took down the $22,550 pot.

The Power of Position

Wright straddled for $200 and was facing a raise to $500 from Franzi from under the gun. Wright looked down at the AQ and raised to $2,000, which Franzi called with his 44 to bring about a 588 flop.

Wright continued for $1,500, Franzi called, and the 10 appeared on the turn. Wright checked and Franzi bet $2,300. That did the trick as Wright released and gave Franzi the $9,550 pot.

Aces for Parenteau … Again!

Maria Ho

Parenteau looked down at the AA and raised to $300, which Ho called from the big blind with her K10. The 10JA flop saw Ho check-call a bet of $300 and the J paired the board on the turn.

Ho, who had two pair with a gutshot check draw, checked it and Parenteau, who had aces full, did the same to bring about the 5 river.

Ho checked for the third time and Parenteau bet $1,200. Ho double-checked her cards then gave it up sending the $2,550 pot to Parenteau.

“What Do You Check the Turn With?”

Hish Salama
Hish Salama

Salama raised to $300 with the KQ in middle position and Elezra popped it to $600 next to act with the J9. Wright called from the small blind with his 86 and Franzi came along from the big with the AQ. Salama put in the additional $300 making it four-way action to the flop of K10A.

Wright checked, Franzi bet $1,200, and Salama called with second pair and a straight draw. The other two players folded and the 5 appeared on the turn. Action went check-check and the 7 completed the board on the river.

Franzi bet $2,000 with top pair and Salama asked, “What do you check the turn with? … You led out which made no sense.”

Eventually, Salama called and Franzi took down the $8,900 pot.
