Sunday Sale Results

Poker players are always on the lookout for value in their games. What better way to increase the value of your session than by playing in some major tournaments costing half their usual price?

This is what happened over at 888poker this weekend where the Sunday Sale promotion took place. Three of 888poker's most popular Sunday tournament had their buy-ins slashed while keeping their juicy original guarantees in place. The result was players walking away with juicy prizes for a small buy-in. What is not to like about that scenario?

zappalution Turns $55 Into $19,560

The $150,000 Main Event usually comes with a $109 asking price, but it only cost $55 this weekend thanks to the Sunday Sale promotion. Some 2,026 unique players bought in and purchased 564 re-entries between them for a total attendance of 2,590. This left a $20,500 overlay for 888poker, not that those who finished in the money places minded.

"zappalution" was the last player standing when the dust settled on this tournament. Their $55 investment swelled to an impressive $19,560 courtesy of that victory. The champion was one of three 888poker players who netted five-figure prizes for their affordable $55 buy-in.

Runner-up "Harley_Quinn" was one of them. The British star walked away with $14,190 reasons to be cheerful. Third-place finisher "Artemka_X" was the other; the Russian banked $10,275.

Sweden Versus Andorra at Sunday Sale High Roller Final Table

It looked like Sweden versus Andorra at the final table of the $50,000 Sunday Sale High Roller event with three Swedes and two Andorrans fighting it out for the top prize.

Advantage looked to have gone to Andorra when Johannes "TrollKonst8" Korsar and "Mr_Coyote" bowed out in eighth and seventh place for scores worth £1,575 and $2,130 respectively.

Disaster struck for the Andorran pair shortly afterward, however, because they crashed out in fourth and fifth place. "Panxetillo" and "railerita" were those players; they reeled in $5,548 and $4,007.

It was indeed Sweden who had the last laugh because "Kzzzon" emerged victoriously after outlasting all 274 of their opponents. Victory came with a $14,542 prize, a healthy return on a $265 buy-in.

Romanian One-Two in the $25,000 Sunday Sale Big Shot

There was a Romanian one-two finish in the $25,000 Sunday Sale Big Shot, which saw $25,000 guaranteed for a $27.50 buy-in. Some 1,510 players bought in, including 393 re-entries, taking the total prize pool to $37,750.

"gamble3rinh0" got their hands on the lionj's share of that pot, namely $5,515. They did so after defeating fellow Romanian "BaRoN1305" heads-up, resigning their fellow countryman to a $4,031 consolation prize.
