The Weekend Preview

Can you believe we are entering the fifth month of the year already? They say time flies when you are having fun, so there must be some serious fun being had! Why not welcome in May by entering, and taking down, one, two or all three of these value-packed online poker tournaments?

The Weekender: $150K Gtd at partypoker

The $150,000 guaranteed Weekender is one of partypoker’s biggest and most popular tournaments, and it is easy to see why. It features three starting flights, which give you the ultimate in flexibility. Each of those Day 1s costs $109 to enter unless you manage to win your way in via one of the many satellites that start at a mere $0.22.

Entering any of the Day 1s sees you sit down with 100,000 chips and play to blinds starting at 500/1,000/125a. Those blinds increase every 15 minutes, giving you ample opportunity to play poker.

All three flights conclude when only 15% of the field remains. Those top 15% take their chips through to the final day on May 2 at 7:05 p.m. BST, safe in the knowledge they are in the money.

The $150,000 Big Shot 109 Main Event at 888poker

888poker revamped its tournament schedule recently and the Big Shot 109 Main Event is one of the stand out weekly events. It shuffles up and deals at 7:00 p.m. BST on May 2, and you sit down with 15,000 chips, the equivalent of 250 big blinds because blinds start at 30/60/7a.

The 12-minute clock keeps the game flowing without turning it into a crapshoot, and the $150,000 prize pool attracts a mix of recreational and professional players. Here’s a little bit of information for you, this tournament is yet to hit its $150,000 since launch! The extra value alone is worth entering for.

If $109 is outside the constraints of your bankroll, there are some $16.50 satellites scheduled to run. There are also some freerolls that you can enter as long as you have made a deposit into your 888poker account.

The Sunday Million PKO Edition at PokerStars

PokerStars’ Sunday Million returns after a hugely successful Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) series, but this week’s tournament comes with a twist. It not only runs over the course of two days, it has a progressive knockout structure, which means you win at least $25 for every opponent you send to the showers.

The buy-in is $109, although there are $1.10 satellite available, and for that princely sum, you receive a generous helping of 10,000 chips and player to blinds starting at 25/50/5a. The clock is set at 12 minutes for the first ten levels, before increasing to 15 from level 11 onwards.

Day 1 concludes 8 hours and 50 minutes after the first cards are pitched, which happens at 6:00 p.m. on May 2, before resuming at the same time on May 3 where the majority of the $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool will be awarded.
