GGPoker Asian Poker League

A staggering ¥80 million ($12.3 million) is guaranteed to be won during the Asian Poker League (APL) festival online at GGPoker. The APL runs for three weeks From February 1 to February 21 and features dozens of tournaments, including 16 APL Trophy events.

The 16 APL Trophy events are the highlights of the bustling schedule, which has start times more suited to Asian countries. Each of these 16 tournaments awards its champion a special APL event, as their name suggests.

Those trophy events come with a wide range of buy-ins across a handful of different currencies. They are open to all GGPoker customers, however, as the GGPoker software automatically converts your base currency into that of the tournament. The table below shows all 16 APL Trophy events complete with buy-ins and guarantees in U.S. dollars.

The first APL Trophy event is already in full swing. The APL Trophy #1: 2021 Tip-Off has more than a dozen Day 1s that eventually feed into Day 2 on February 7. Each Day 1 costs ¥188 ($29) to buy into and those who finish in the money places will share a guaranteed prize pool worth ¥2,021,000 ($312,400).

APL Trophy #10: Asia Poker League Championship is another event spanning several Day 1s and concluding with a Day 2. This commands a ¥588 ($90.80) buy-in and comes with a juicy ¥3,000,000 ($463,600) guaranteed prize pool. The first of this tournament’s 29 flights starts at 10:00 a.m. GMT (6:00 p.m. CST) on February 6.

The event everyone wants to win, if only because of the size of its prize pool, is the 16th and final APL Trophy tournament, the Main Event. Buying into the APL Trophy Main Event costs ¥1,888 ($130) but you’ll be playing for a slice of a cool ¥10,000,000 ($1,545,000) for your investment.

There are 25 Day 1s with the first shuffling up and dealing on February 15 at 10:00 a.m. GMT (6:00 p.m. CST).

Satellites are, of course, available right now in the GGPoker lobby. They cost one-tenth of the target tournament’s buy-in, which gives everyone the chance to play in a prestigious event for a fraction of its cost.

¥100,000 Worth of Weekly Leaderboards

GGPoker is putting up ¥100,000 ($15,450) for freerolls on each of the three weeks the APL runs. Players earn points for their country by cashing in any APL tournament, not just the APL Trophy events.

The top 10 results by each country count for each country’s standings with the top three countries being entered into a special freeroll at the end of each week. You get to play in this freeroll if you have contributed even a single point to your country’s tally.

Players from the country with the most points that week play against each other for a share of ¥50,000 ($7,725), the second-place country play for a slice of a ¥30,000 ($4,635) prize pool, while the third-placed country members lock horns to a piece of ¥20,000 ($3,090).

Begin Your Quest for APL Glory With a $600 Welcome Bonus
