GGMasters Player of the Year

Cyprus-based Greek star “Cantaloupe7” finds themselves in the envious position of being the player to catch in the GGMasters Player of the Year. Being in first place in a race where there’s so much at stake is always a great position to be in, but Cantaloupe7 knows there are only four more Sundays standing between them and a sponsorship package worth up to $500,000.

Here's how you can bluff your way to the WSOP

Cantaloupe7 soared into the lead at the start of November when the $1,050 edition of the GGMasters was part of the High Rollers Week. A huge field of 1,325 players bought in and the man from Greece, but who calls Cyprus home, was the last player standing.

Victory in this massive event was worth a huge $233,813 and a whole host of Player of the year points, almost 2,450 of them. Those points saw Cantaloupe7 leap-frog everyone in the race for that $500,000 sponsorship package.

Only 166.01 points separate the current leader and second-placed Marcin Dziubdziela of Poland. The Pole rose to the top of the pile last month courtesy of a runner-up finish in a Bounty Hunters Series edition of the GGMasters. Another result like that could well lock up the tile.

Three other GGPoker players have climbed into the top 10 as we enter December.

Austria’s Dan Smiljkovic now occupies sixth-place while Samuel Vousden and “CheckEtoFold” find themselves in ninth and 10th place following impressive recent victories.

Vousden won the GGMasters High Roller on November 15 for $183,511 with CheckEtoFold winning the same event the following week for $177,664.

The top 10 finishers in the Player of the Year race get their hands on some fantastic prizes. Finishing second through 10th awards a ticket to every GGMasters tournament in 2021. The winner, however, secures a GG sponsorship package valued at up to $500,000.
