The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) online bracelet events began at the beginning of July and will run through September 6th. It is comprised of 85 WSOP gold bracelets on the digital felt across two different clients: WSOP.com and GG Poker.
Each week, we’ll highlight those players who rise to the top through their performance, be it a dominating one in a single event, or an exhibition of consistency over several tournaments. Here’s a look at the POTWs thus far:
- Shawn “SayGoodnight” Daniels
- Ryan “im.sorry” Torgersen
- Julian "Julian" Parmann
- Ryan "potential" Laplante
Steinman Tops Leaderboard
No one did better during the WSOP.com portion of the 2020 WSOP than Ian “APokerJoker2” Steinman, who had 15 cashes totaling $187,812. He got off to a hot start with two final table appearances in three days, and while he cooled off in the middle of the schedule, he hit a heater at the end cashing in eight of the last 11 events, which included a win in Event #27: $400 NLH Freezeout for $110,557.
A four-time WSOP Circuit ring winner, Steinman had $654,816 in WSOP-related series before the win. That included two prior final table appearances and 10 cashes in the online series. Steinman’s biggest live score was for $201,428 after he finished runner-up in the 2018 WPT Rolling Thunder (the same tournament in which he gained notoriety for folding a set of kings to Joe McKeehen).
It was clear that winning a bracelet meant the world to Steinman, and his moment of victory was captured by his brother and shared on social media:
