2020 GUKPT Goliath

The 2020 Goliath online series shuffled up and dealt for the first time this weekend and Grosvenor Poker has already crowned four champions. The £100,000 guaranteed is less than a week away and this quartet of winners certainly now have the bankroll to compete in that £125 buy-in spectacular.

Goliath #1: The Opener

“LeGrandPoisson” won the Goliath #1: The Opener and turned their £55 into a cool £6,542. The champion came out on top of a 696-strong field who created a guarantee-busting £34,800 prize pool.

All but two of the eight players who reached the final table walked away with a four-figure prize. “NintenDope” and “C00kieMonster” were that brace of players. They won £522 and £783 respectively.

Sixth-place and £1,218 went to “drunkenmastr” before “nightmaresonstax” and “WinsFlipsForFun” ran out of steam and got their hands on £1,740 and £2,610.

LeGrandPoisson found themselves in the top three and guaranteed £3,514. This prize money increased when “stakermighty39” fell by the wayside to send the tournament heads-up. “bringbackpotch” busted in second-place after firing four bullets. The runner-up spot awarded £4,785, which left LeGrandPoisson to bank £6,542.

Goliath #2: PKO

The second event on the 15-strong schedule was the £30 buy-in PKO that saw 493 players enter.

Two of the players who reached the final table of the Goliath #1: Opener also reached the final table of this event. LeGrandPoisson, The Opener’s champion, fell in seventh-place and won £172 plus an additional £175 worth of bounty payments. “stakermighty39” finished third in The Opener and third again here, this second final table appearance yielding £690 plus £71 in bounties.

Their exit left “yingyang1991” and “Zebster1994” heads-up. Both collected £1,114 from the main prize pool but Zebster1994 won £1,090 worth of bounties after busting yingyang1991 who added £501 to his tally from the bounty prize pool.

Goliath #4: NLH

More four-figure prizes were dished out in the £30 buy-in Goliath #4: NLH, another four of them in fact. The 610 entrants ensured the £10,000 guarantee was blown out of the water by £7,080.

“BluffSqaaaaud” was the last player standing in this event and that resulted in £3,245 making its way to their Grosvenor Poker account. They claimed the lion’s share of the prize pool after sending “Sargon369” to the showers in second-place, which weighed in at £2,391.

“somersetlad” netted £1,281 for their fourth-place exit while “Snake292929” turned their third £30 bullet into £1,752 courtesy of a third-place finish.

“BlueDeans123” was the first of these players; they crashed out in fifth. “stenty777” turned their £5 into £198 before “pigeonhot23” was sent to the showers in third and collected £271 for their £5 investment.

Heads-up pitted “Christie95” and whatacrapname and it was the latter who emerged victoriously. First-place weighed in at £503 with second-place yielding a still impressive £371.
