The WSOP Online on GGPoker is just days away from handing out the first batch of their 54 gold bracelets. Running from July 19 to September 6, this online festival will be one for the record books. PokerNews dove deep into this unprecedented series and picked ten reasons why it'll be a success story... as well as noting three not-so-great things about this series.
Curious what they are? Let's find out!
Sarah Herring tells you everything you need to know about the WSOP on GGPoker.
Ten Reasons Why the WSOP on GGPoker will be HUGE
1) The Main Event Offers the Juiciest Guarantee Ever With $25,000,000
There are big online tournaments and recently, there even have been some outrageously huge ones. However, GGPoker is resetting the bar with an unprecedented $25,000,000 guarantee for the Main Event!
It's a prize pool worthy of being tagged to the name of poker's most prestigious event. With 22 starting days, there's a time and place for everyone to take a shot and become a multimillionaire overnight.
Running a dozen times into the big boys shouldn't be happening here: entries are capped at just three per player. Everyone gets a shot, a mulligan, and then a final attempt. Three strikes? You're out!
2) Big Guarantees Across the Board
Speaking of guarantees: while the $25M Main Event may be stealing the spotlights, don't sleep on the other big guarantees on the schedule. What to think of The Opener, already underway and kicking off the series with a hefty $2,000,000 guarantee for just $100? Or what to think of the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, which has a $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool to live up to its name and turn someone into a millionaire.
There are eight tournaments with $1,000,000 or more in guaranteed prize money on the schedule and they're all can't-miss. Check out PokerNews' guide below on how to build your WSOP schedule.
3) Win a Bracelet From Home, Or (Almost) Anywhere!
Winning a WSOP bracelet while playing indoors in baggy sweatpants, in your favorite chill lounge, or with a laptop on the beach, it's all possible. As long as you have a working internet connection, most places in the world offer access to GGPoker, and if not (such as in the US), relocating to one of those places and providing proof of address will allow you to jump in and compete for poker's most coveted prize.
Perhaps we'll see the first bracelet winner emerging from a Tijuana parking lot this summer?

4) Win a Bracelet For Just $50
You love the WSOP and have been saving up for years for a shot at the big money and glory. However, WSOP events are often notoriously expensive, and a trip to Las Vegas will often set you back even further before the event has gotten underway.
While entry prizes across the board have been lowered in the past years to offer more people a shot at a bracelet, none have even been as low as Event #71: BIG 50, $1M Gtd., which, as the name implies, offers a chance at a bracelet for just fifty bucks and a dream. Flights for this event will start on August 16.
5) Compete for Multiple Bracelets at Once
Just one more player is standing between you and your dream after three days of intense poker. Unfortunately, after a lengthy back-and-forth battle, you just miss out on the gold. Normally, during the summer, the next event might be days away, not to forget all those you've missed out on while you were busy running deep.
Multitabling online is a lot more convenient than in real life, where the likes of Shaun Deeb can sometimes be seen dashing back and forth between tournaments. GGPoker will accommodate multitabling and offers up to four bracelet events on a single day. Bust one? There's another shot at gold right away. Will we see the first two-time bracelet winner in a single day?
6) Six Different Leaderboards to Shoot For
Players will be competing not in one, not in two, but in SIX different leaderboards throughout the course of the WSOP. Are Spin & Golds your game of choice? A $10,000 daily WSOP giveaway awaits. The Great Game of Pot-Limit Omaha more up your alley? GGPoker has you covered. There's daily cash prizes awarded throughout the summer.

7) You Won't Get DQ'd For Pulling Down Your Pants
Last year, the poker world got shocked by egregious behavior from Ken Strauss who gained notority as the 'Naked Bandit' after the incident. If you haven't seen it, read a summary of Strauss' questionable antics in last year's Main Event, including going all-in blind, mooning an opponent, and throwing his shoes across the table. There's a clip going around of the incident: don't google it, you won't be able to unsee.
However, when in the comfort of your own home, do as you please. You're the king of your castle. There's no dress code online and no one will judge you. Well, perhaps your cat. (Don't throw a shoe at your cat, though. Really.)
8) Buy and Sell Action in the GGPoker Client
What's better than buying a piece of your favorite player? The state-of-the-art GGPoker software offers a Staking feature where you can buy and sell action in the lobby of a tournament. Your staking profile will be accessible to potential backers when you're selling your action. Will you be the one with a piece of the next champ?
Staking just got even better. Check it our here
9) Get into the WSOP for as low as $1.08!
GGPoker offers several promotions catered to low-limit players to squeak into the big events at a discount. The WSOP Silk Road promotion gives players a shot for $1.08 and upwards, offering guarantees including countless WSOP tickets to work your way up to the major leagues.
Spin Your Way into WSOP is a way to enter the $5,200 Main Event for just $2. This special version of the Spin 'n Gold offers a $10,000 cash prize, a Main Event entry, or WSOP satellite tickets ranging from $10 all the way up to $500.
10) No Matter What... It's Still the World Series of Poker!
No matter whether it's live or online, the World Series of Poker has been the most important tournament series in poker for over half a century. Winners will earn their place in history alongside Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, and GGPoker's very own Daniel Negreanu as a fellow bracelet winner. It'll be different, but it'll certainly be a hard-fought victory for any champ.
Three Not-So-Great Things About This Series
1) It's Not in Las Vegas
Yes, while we said it earlier, as much as playing indoors in baggy sweatpants is comfy there's nothing that tops a night on the prowl in Sin City. The limelight, the buzz, and the glamour that make this city so unique simply can't be replicated in the digital surroundings.
Splurging your hard-earned cash on a fancy meal at Joel Robuchon, ordering bottle service at Hakkasan or partaking in the many adult entertainment choices this city has to offer will not be the next order of business in a bracelet winner's agenda this time around. Your local businessmen will certainly appreciate your clientele, though.
2) No Boisterous Final Table Rail
Imagine navigating your way to a minefield of thousands, making it all the way to the final 9 with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line. Your buddies have all donned themselves in your countries colors, engaging in dueling chants with those loud Brazilians and rowdy Brits that brought out their own armadas to root for their champions. WSOP's famous hallway bartender Hal keeps everyone's thirst quenched for an unforgettable atmosphere.
While the moment is still unforgettable and the money on top remains the same, you'll have to make do with dozens shouting into your headset on Zoom this time. We'll redo the celebrations properly next year.
3) You Can't Pick Up on Live Tells
If there's one beauty about live poker is that no matter what, you can always look someone dead in the eye to see if he has it or not. Online, it's hard to tell whether someone is bouncing around in delight after picking up a pair of rockets or sweating profusely whether his ballsy eight-high bluff will be picked off or not.
Still, there are plenty of ways you can read your opponents online. Find out what they are here!
