“YoungGunz21” Wins First Event of WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series

“YoungGunz21” topped a 886-entry field to win the WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series Event #1

To close out the WSOP Circuit season, which saw 14 stops either impacted or canceled due to the pandemic, the WSOP will host the “Season Finale” Online Circuit Event from June 3-14, which will award a guaranteed 13 spots into the Global Casino Championship. A dozen of those spots will be awarded to the winners of each event, while the final spot will go to the “Casino Champ” of the WSOP.com series.

The WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series is a 12-ring event online series for those inside the borders of Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware. The WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series kicked off on Wednesday and will run through June 14, with 12 official gold ring events, other nightly tournaments, and more than $1,500,000 in prize pool guarantees.

The first tournament on the schedule — Event #1: $100,000 GTD NLH Online Finale Circuit Kick-Off 2x Re-entry — featured a $215 buy-in and easily surpassed the guarantee. With a final count of 596 registered players and 290 rebuys, the 886-entry tournament offered a total prize pool of $177,200 that was paid out amongst the top 100 players with a min-cash starting at $372.

In the end, “YoungGunz21” emerged victorious to capture a $42,528 first-place prize, WSOP Circuit ring, and a guaranteed spot in the GCC. Also at the final table were well-known poker pros Ankush "rickrosstheb" Mandavia and Joseph "biueberry" Cheong.

Others to cash the tournament included Brent "UncleRon" Hanks (78th place - $372), Katie "Katelin" Lindsay (55th place - $478), Don "blonde2020" Himpele (27th place - $708), Robert "bjacks" Jackson (19th place - $1,417), and Tyler "TIPnTimeBOMB" Sumrall (10th place - $1,949).

Big names in the field that fell short of the money included Aram "X69Podheiser" Zobian (128th place), Jonathan "JonBlvze" Raber (136th place), Yong Keun "LuckySpewy1" Kwon (163rd place), Justin "Lappypoker" Lapka (165th place) and Joshua "808grinder" Suyat (218th place).

The next two events on the WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series schedule include a $100,000 guarantee at both a $320 and $215 buy-in price. Event #2: $100,000 GTD Online Finale No-Limit Hold’em 2x Re-entry and Event #3: $100,000 GTD Online Finale NLH Turbo Deepstack 2x Re-entry will take place on Thursday (4 p.m. PST) and Friday (4 p.m. PST) respectively.
