Weekend Preview

There is so much online poker action this Easter weekend that we could fill several articles with suggestions of tournaments to play, but that would be silly. Instead, we’ve selected a quartet of major online poker tournaments that deserve your attention. Here we go!

2020 Irish Open Online Main Event at partypoker

When partypoker came to the rescue of the 2020 Irish Open they decided to keep the €1 million guaranteed Main Event on the schedule. It raised a few eyebrows as the €1,100 buy-in event needed 1,000 players to enter for that seven-figure pot to be hit.

Those eyebrows are still raised but in awe of the massive prize pool being created. Day 1A took place on April 8 and drew in a crowd of 831 players. Day 1B was almost as large with another 793 entries, taking the total to 1,624 players and a €1,624,000 prize pool with two starting flights still to come.

Day 1C commences at 8:00 p.m. on April 10 with the fourth and final day, which has a turbo blind structure, starting at 6:00 p.m. prompt on April 11. Day 2 starts at 8:00 p.m. on April 11 with the final day starting at the same time on April 12.

Satellites for the 2020 Irish Open Main Event are running frequently at partypoker and are creating plenty of tickets. A €109 buy-in edition on the evening of April 9 had 10x €1,100 seats guaranteed. It, however, paid out 60 seats!

Get involved in the massive Irish Open Main Event and see if you can win the 40th anniversary edition of this amazing tournament.

Enter the $200,000 PKO Series Main Event at 888poker

Head to 888poker this weekend if you love your online poker tournaments with hefty guarantees and in progressive knockout format.

The PKO Series concludes on April 12 and 888poker is ensuring it goes out with a bang! Shuffling up and dealing at 7:00 p.m. CET, the PKO Series #31 - $200,000 Main Event commands a $109 buy-in. You receive 50,000 chips for your $109, but can also rebuy up to five times should you dust your stack off while late registration is open.

You’ll secure at least $25 for each opponent you send to the sidelines, but the bounties continually increase so expect to win far more.

Satellites from only $1.50 are available should you not be keen on the idea of parting company with $109.

$2.5 Million is Guaranteed in the PokerStars Sunday Million This Weekend!

The Sunday Million has gone nuts in recent weeks. First, we had the 14th anniversary edition with its $12.5 million guarantee, then more than 23,000 players bought into the following week’s tournament.

PokerStars is expecting at least 25,000 player to buy in this week because they’ve increased the guarantee from $1 million to $2.5 million despite leaving the buy-in at $109!

When 23,134 players bought in on March 29, everyone at the final table walked away with at least $13,770 for their effort. The final two players struck a deal that saw them share more than $300,000!

Mexico’s “lfmdcv” netted $149,034 while Netherlands’ “Roykus” banked $159,915, all for a $109 buy-in, which is quite ridiculous when you think about it.

This week’s Sunday Million is a two-day affair to avoid it from becoming a crapshoot with so many entrants expected. Day 1 begins at 7:00 p.m. CET and continues for approximately eight hours 50 minutes. It then resumes at 7:00 p.m. CET on April 13 and plays to a conclusion.

Buy-in direct for $109 or win your way in via the plethora of satellites taking place around the clock. Sit & Go satellite start at only $0.50 with traditional MTT satellites from only $11 being available.

Why Not Buy and Sell Pieces in the $500K GGMasters?

We can’t sign off the latest Weekend Preview without mentioning the $500,000 guaranteed GGMasters at GGPoker. This tournament is such good value that it’s a mainstay in this article!

GGMasters costs $150 to enter unless you win your way in from satellites costing as little as $1.50. The tournament is a freezeout meaning once you’re gone you’re gone! Make sure you bring your A-game to the tables.

You’ll earn Player of the Year points if you reach the money places of the GGMasters. If you’ve earned the most points come the end of 2020 you’ll secure a GG Ambassador package that’s worth up to $500,000! Even those players finishing second through 10th on the end of year leaderboard win tickets to every GGMasters tournament held in 2021!

Buying in before the GGMaster starts at 7:00 p.m. CET means you receive free bubble protection meaning you receive you buy-in back in the form of T$ should you finish in the bubble places.

You can even buy or sell action in the GGMasters with GGPoker’s inbuilt staking software. There are no fees for buying or selling, you just put in your desired mark up, how much you want to sell or buy and the software takes care of the business side of things automatically. It’s awesome!
