GGMaster POY Update

The race to win the GGMasters Player of the Year is seriously hotting up with four months of 2020 done and dusted. Someone will walk away with a GGPoker ambassador package worth up to $500,000, who that someone is could be affected by you.

Everyone who cashes in any GGMasters is awarded Player of the Year (POY) points. Those finishing in second-through-tenth win $150 GGMasters tickets for every tournament in 2021. The champion, however, becomes a GG Ambassador with a package worth up to half a million dollars.

Brazil’s Ricardo “M@cacoCidadao” Nascimento is still the man to catch in the race for sponsorship. The Brazilian won a GGMasters and reached the final table of another. He now enjoys an 187.39 cushion between himself and “Vladiator13” who won last week’s tournament.

It currently takes a shade over 1,230 points to climb into the POY top 10. This seems a lot but a couple of final table appearances, several cashes, or one outright victory can award this sum.

With satellites into the $150 buy-in freezeout starting at only $1.50, everyone has the chance of becoming the GGMasters POY.

Vladiator Wins GGMaster on April 26, Goes Straight Into POY Second Place

The last GGMasters to run broke through its $500,000 guarantee for the first time with 3,662 players creating a $505,356 prize pool. It’s an incredible achievement considering the tournament’s guarantee was $300,000 less than two months ago.

The top 611 players received a slice of this monster-sized sum, although a trio of other player won their buy-in back in tournament dollars, too.

“somebodyelse” and “BKBroker” fell in 617th and 616th respectively and won T$150 thanks to registering for the GGMasters before the tournament began. It’s a great free feature of GGPoker’s major tournaments.

A min-cash weighed in at $268 but this increase to $4,252 by the time the nine-handed final table was reached. The first five-figure prize went to sixth-place finisher “nuller” of Cyprus who walked away with $12,304.

Prizes continued rising with “aaaanasty” banking $24,985 in fourth and “HorseAlmighty” collecting $35,604 for their third-place exit.

Heads-up pitted “Luoat” of Hong Kong against Lithuania’s “Vladiator13”. The latter emerged victoriously and scooped a massive $72,299 for their $150 investment, with the runner-up netting $50,735.

Vladiator13 was awarded 1,421.77 POY points in addition to their cash prize. Thanks to another cash in a previous GGMasters, the Lithuanian goes into second-place in the yearly race.
