2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series

The 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series saw its first high-stakes no-limit hold'em champion crowned in the $330 buy-in Event #5: $15,000 GTD NLH Black Chip Bounty Rebuy, where "buckets44" topped a field of 142 entries to take home the first-place prize of $8,107.

The fifth event saw only 23 players start off the tournament but the numbers continued to pile in with 142 entries being tallied by the end of registration, though only 25 players remained at the start of Level 19.

From there, it took less than 20-minutes for the tournament to reach the money as the top 15 got paid and within a blink of an eye, the final table was reached.

“nigock” Wins Event #4: Red Chip Bounty

The $20 buy-in Event #4: $2,000 GTD NLH Red Chip Bounty crushed its guarantee by attracting 422 players. That created a $7,596 prize pool with $5,486 of that going to the main prize pool and $2,110 to the bounty pool. Each elimination was worth a $5.00 red chip to the victor.

The top 45 finishers got paid including “Brusko59” (12th - $76.80), “lasillo1989” (20th - $49.37), “millertime4244” (27th - $38.40), “Steve_Brule” (31st - $32.91), “Jrsgirl322” (38th - $27.43), and “HBK27” (42nd - $27.43).

After more than four hours of play, it was “nigock” defeating “Due2hold1” in heads-up play to win the title and $979.53 first-place prize.

Tuesday's Flight C in the $215 buy-in Spring Poker Open Event #1: Phased $100K GTD saw 18 of 69 players advance to Day 2. The field now stands at 276 entries with five flights still to go. Leading the pack is "MattEMenz" with 413,256, which is just behind Day 1b chip leader "CreateReality" (415,749). Both are still far behind that of Day 1a chip leader "irish44," who made it through with 692,551.

Others to make it through Flight C were "ClarkWesterfeld" (325,227), "jetsfan411" (249,340), BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Michael "Gags30" Gagliano (201,177), "PeoplesChamp" (116,601), and "AvidSmores" (60,349).

The surviving players will return to action on Sunday. In the meantime, there is a daily Day 1 flight between now and then.

There will be a Day 1 flight for Event #1 every day of the remaining series with the surviving players from each returning at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 12 to play down to a winner.
