It attracts almost 400,000 visitors each year and houses a wide-ranging collection of Brazilian art, including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts.
Enjoy the street-art on Beco do Batman
For many cities around the world, a narrow alleyway might not be the most eye-catching of tourist destinations. However, this one in particular in the Vila Madalena neighbourhood of São Paulo is well-known among tourists for its dense concentration of graffiti.
Beco do Batman (Batman's Alleyway) is continually renovated and cared for by local community members, with its walls full of colourful and creative graffiti pieces that are best enjoyed on foot.
Experience the great outdoors at Parque Villa Lobos
A Brazilian state park, Villa Lobos is named after composer Heitor Villa-Lobos and was created in 1989. It is home to 37,000 trees and is located in central São Paulo. The park is not just home to trees! There are exhibition buildings, an amphitheatre, shops, auditoriums and a 43,000 sq ft library.
There are also sports facilities, hiking trails and a jogging track so that you can make the most of your visit to one of the greenest settings in the city.
Get a taste for Brazilian food at São Paulo’s Municipal Market
With all these activities, you might have worked up an appetite so it's time to visit the 'Mercadão' or simply "big market." A noting meeting point for residents and a popular tourist attraction, São Paulo’s Municipal Market is situated in the center of town and sees merchants from all over the city selling their wares.
