Streaming online poker games on the Twitch platform continues to grow in popularity. Players utilize Twitch to build their own brand and fans love it as they can root for their favorite players and friends while getting insight into how they play.

There is a wide range of streamers from the player just starting with a handful of viewers to those with thousands of simultaneous viewers such as PokerStars Ambassadors Lex Veldhuis, Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand, and Ben "Spraggy" Spragg.

PokerStars has recently introduced a new feature allowing any of its players, regardless of the size of their audience, to link their Twitch account directly to its PokerStars account within the desktop, mobile client, or the PokerStars website.

“Integrating PokerStars further with Twitch is just another step of a long list of plans and ideas we plan on testing with the aim of players getting even more from their time with us,” said Scott Goodall, Head of Poker Communities & Engagement at The Stars Group according to Poker Industry Pro.

Players that link their Twitch account to their PokerStars account will be eligible for special promotions. One recent example is that players that linked their accounts by Dec. 1 were eligible to play in a $5,000 all-in shootout freeroll on Dec. 2. This is just one example as there are many other big promotions to come.

“We are always looking at new technology and platforms to evolve our offering and to improve the overall experience as part of our commitment to growing poker,” said Goodall.

“Platforms like Twitch take player engagement to another level, so we’ve been very focused on nurturing that community from the beginning and pioneering efforts there. Connecting PokerStars accounts with Twitch accounts means our players can identify themselves as Twitch users, and we can in turn offer them special promotions, items and rewards,” Goodall added.

PokerStars offers many paths to win a Platinum Pass. Many of these paths involved winning a live tournament where players will already be receiving a huge windfall from the prize pool.

Now, players that link their Twitch account and their PokerStars account have a chance to win a coveted Platinum Pass as well. Players simply need to watch at least 24 hours of coverage on the PokerStars Twitch channel while also streaming at least 10 hours of their own play on their person linked Twitch channel.

The PokerStars Twitch channel will soon be covering the EPT Prague which you can follow along also at PokerNews as we report the final big live poker festival of 2019.

Not every player that completes these requirements will automatically be rewarded a Platinum Pass. PokerStars Twitch Ambassadors Georgina "GJ Reggie" James and Mason "PyeFace" Pye will each select one winner on Dec. 23 based on the quality of the content and production, innovation, and entertainment value.

This perfect Christmas poker gift not only awards a Platinum Pass but also a stream-ready PC and $1,000 in cash into their PokerStars accounts.
