The Golden Poker Million Cyprus Final Table is Set
Table Of Contents
While all the poker tours in the United States took a backseat this weekend for a well-deserved Thanksgiving holiday, there's plenty of poker action happening all across European soil. Over in Cyprus, the 2019 Golden Poker Million has drawn a field of a whopping 1,178 entries, each ponying up the buy-in of €800, coming up just short of the guaranteed €1,000,000 prize pool
After six starting flights and two subsequent days, the field has been whittled down to its final nine hopefuls. Andorra's Antonio Saez Zamorano leads the way heading into Monday's final table. Zamorano claimed the chip lead early on Day 3, then after relinquishing it he went on a roll. He first doubled up against Russia's Dmitrii Vitugin when he got paid on the river after his jack-ten completed a straight against his opponent's nines with a potential straight draw completing.
Soon after, fortune was on the Spaniard's side. Zamorano got it all in with eights and got there on the river to eliminate Vitugin who held aces and Israel's Marco Marco who held sevens. From that point, Zamorano held the lead for the entire day.
The final table will be a deep-stacked affair with the starting average stack north over 65 big blinds. It's also an international affair with players from eight different countries still in contention.
In addition to Zamorano, other players starting with eight-figure stacks are Duzgun (21,375,000), Russia's Ruslan Bakhtiev (20,300,000), Spain's David Comeron (13,525,000), and Russia's Alexey Romanov (10,825,000). The others on the final table include Iran's Milad Oghabian (8,100,000), Ukraine's Vladyslav Pohribnyi (5,000,000), Israel's Shlomi Shimoni (4,200,000), and Turkey's Seref Dursun Anar (3,650,000).
