2020 Aussie Millions

The 2020 Aussie Millions is right around the corner and it could well be the biggest in its history. Crown Melbourne is gearing up for what should be an epic poker festival that runs January 4-24.

Aussie Millions is one of the most popular live poker events on the calendar but this one could be record-breaking. Traditionally, Aussie Millions follows on from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, with many players having to choose between the two festivals. With the PCA now scrapped, the Aussie Millions is sure to attract even bigger crowds through its doors.

The 2019 Aussie Millions paid out more than AU$30 million and saw over 8,600 players from all corners of the planet head to sunny Melbourne. Pokernews would no be surprised if that impressive number of entrants broke through five-figures.

PokerNews Providing Live Updates From Five Huge Events

For the fourteenth year in a row, our elite team of live reporters is making the long journey to Melbourne to bring you live and exclusive coverage of five gargantuan events and we cannot wait to relay all the information to you.

First up is the AU$25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha on January 13th. PLO, affectionally referred to as "The Great Game", is sure to provide plenty of action and great fun to follow along with. Last year’s AU$25,000 PLO saw German pro Anton Morgenstern outlast 66 opponents to secure an AU$530,640 payday.

Following the AU$25,000 PLO is the AU$25,000 Challenge, a No-Limit Hold’em event that is sure to attract the best in the business. Tune into PokerNews on January 15th to follow our updates from this event. As a taster of what to expect, last year’s event saw 151-entries create an AU$3,624,000 prize pool. Rainer Kempe and Toby Lewis chopped heads-up, Kempe locking up another title and AU$831,465 with Lewis walking away with AU$781,214.

You can also follow our live updates from the AU$50,000 Challenge, a tournament that Toby Lewis won in 2019 for AU$818,054, a year after winning the coveted Main Event. Lewis will no doubt return Down Under to try and capture more Aussie Millions gold.

AU$100,000 Challenge and the AU$10,600 Main Event

Cary Katz should be in town to defend his AU$100,000 challenge title. Katz came out on top of a 42-strong field in the 2019 edition of this super high roller and returned to the United States AU$1,481,760 richer than when he arrived in “Oz”.

Sandwiched between the AU$50,000 and AU$100,000 is the AU$10,600 Aussie Millions Main Event. The 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event saw 822 players buy-in and the tournament ended in a three-way chop. Talented Aussie Andrew Hinrichsen finished third for AU$1,097,739 with American Michael Del Vecchio banking AU$1,272,162. It was none other than Bryn Kenney who was the last soul standing; his reward was the coveted Aussie Millions Main Event ring and AU$1,272,598. It kicked off Kenney's biggest year to date which resulted in him taking over the #1 spot on the All-Time Money List from Justin Bonomo.

This year’s Main Event starts on January 17th.
