Some 365 players returned to the partypoker-branded felt at the Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas for Day 2 of the $10 million guaranteed Main Event. A handful of players took advantage of being able to buy in at the start of Day 2, including Team partypoker pros Isaac Haxton and Mikita Badziakouski. Other late entrants included Anthony Zinno, Bryn Kenney, Antanas “Tony G” Guoga, and Marvin Rettenmaier.
High profile stars such as Martin Jacobson, Niall Farrell, Maria Ho, and Joseph Cheong were among the early eliminations but the waters were still infested with sharks. The players fell by the wayside in a steady stream throughout Day 2 but it was the 136th place finisher that ended play for the day, bursting the money bubble too.
Vasylenko Yevgen was all in for his last 25,000 chips from the big blind. Everyone folded to Jacobus Visser in the small blind and he called to put Yevgen at risk of elimination. Yevgen showed three-deuce off suit and Visser king-ten. The river gave Visser the pot and sent the remaining 135 players into the money, each guaranteed $20,000.
Margereson Holds a Commanding Lead
Leading the final 135 players back into battle is British pro Scott Margereson, the only player t break through the 30 million chip barrier. The Brit sits back down with 38,350,000 chips and is going to take some stopping now the tournament has reached its business end.
