Club Pierre Charron Announces the Return of the WSOP Circuit to Paris in May 2020
The Club Pierre Charron plans to open its doors by the end of the year providing a new outlet for European poker players. The club, which will be located near the Champs-Elysées and include 40 tables, already announced it will be hosting the WPTDeepStacks from February 21 to March 1 but this is not all.
Yesterday, the Club Pierre Charron, which is part of the Marval Group, announced a new partnership with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to bring back the WSOP International Circuit to the French capital for the first time since the end of 2017 when Marius Conan won the WSOP International Circuit Paris €1,500 Main Event for a cool €200,000 ($237,017) and a coveted WSOP gold ring.
The partnership calls for three upcoming WSOP International Circuit events to be held at the club with the first one taking place from May 18 to June 1, 2020, with many WSOP gold rings planned to be awarded.
The winner of the Main Event will not only claim a gold ring and the lion's share of the prize pool but also be awarded a free seat to the Global Casino Championship valued at $10,000. The Global Casino Championship is an invite-only event with a prize pool of at least $1 million that players must qualify and will be held in the United States in August 2020.
The Marval Group is obviously excited about bringing one of the world's most prestigious poker festivals back to the French capital.
“It is thrilling to think the World Series of Poker is coming back to Paris,” said Gregory Benac, President of the Marval Group. “It is a dream come true to host a worldwide poker event such as this at Club Pierre Charron.”
The WSOP is equally as thrilled about partnering with the Marval Group.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Marval Group to bring the WSOP back to Paris,” said WSOP Director Gregory Chochon in a press release. “We know there are a lot of poker players in close proximity to Paris and their central location will serve as a terrific setting to host the WSOP Circuit.”
