PokerStars LIVE Asia heads to Jeju, South Korea from November 9th through November 15th for what will be another fantastic edition of the popular Red Dragon series.

Eighteen action-packed no-limit hold’em tournaments fill the schedule and some of the prize pools and guarantees are nothing short of massive. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on the ground providing you with live updates from the Red Dragon High Roller, the Super High Roller, and the Red Dragon Main Event (from Day 1B onwards). Recaps for some of the other major events will also be published.

This year’s Red Dragon High Roller runs from November 9-10 and costs KRW5,000,000 (approx. $4,250). it is a new tournament on the schedule, but a similar tournament last year commanded a KRW3,600,000 buy-in and saw Yuan Li top a field of 220 players to bank the equivalent of $158,014.

The KRW10,000,000 (approx. $8,500) Super High Roller is another new addition to the Red Dragon Jeju festival. Last year’s schedule had a KRW12,000,000 event on it and had95 players outlasted by Yingui Li who walked away with a KRW285,010,000 ($254,682) top prize.

It is the fabled Red Dragon Main Event that everyone in Jeju wants to win. Not only does it come with a big first-place prize, but the tournament is also one of the most prestigious on the Asian calendar. One billion Korean Wan is guaranteed (approx. $850,000) and it is sure to attract some of Asia’s elite poker tournament players.

China’s Yuechun Shi is the reigning champion, having triumphed over 612 opponents in 2018. Shi scooped more than 266 million KRW for his victory, the equivalent of $240,124 in US dollars.
