Rob Yong Binks $467K River on Poker After Dark

Rob Yong appeared on PAD this week and won a big pot on the river.

Big pots were played on the latest "GOAT" edition of "Poker After Dark's" live-streamed cash game, and one of them involved over $460,000 going into the middle with one player holding seven-four suited.

Easily the hand of the week, Dusk Till Dawn owner and partypoker partner Rob Yong decided to go to the streets with 74 and was up against Alan Keating, who held ace-queen.

Hand Details

In this $100/$200 game, stacks were deep and three hours in, chips were flying. They were seven-handed after NBA legend Paul Pierce exited the game following being coolered with top set by Yong, whose gutshot straight draw came in on the turn and the board failed to pair on the river.

The standard $400 straddle was still on but in this hand, Keating put in the double-straddle for $800 and Jennifer Tilly raised to $3,000 first to act with sixes. Yong called and action folded to Brandon Cantu in the straddle, who called with jack-ten suited. Keating then looked down at ace-queen offsuit and bumped it up to $15,000. Only Yong continued, heading to the flop as a 38/62 underdog with the pot swelled to $36,500.

On the 5Q4 flop, the percentages shifted to 75% in favor of Keating's top pair, top kicker but Yong had outs as well as runner-runner potentials to go with his bottom pair. Keating continued for $20,000 and it didn't take Yong long to toss in calling chips.

The 2 brought in the flush draw for Yong, increasing his equity to 30% and Keating put him to the test, shoving for his remaining $195,000. Yong had him well covered, facing a more than 2.5-times pot-sized bet.

"Well I think I'm ahead," Yong said with a smile as he deliberated. "I have a pair and a flush draw," he announced to the table. "I'd love to know what you've got here."

He continued: "Can I be playing hands and folding pairs and flush draws in poker..." He then said he wasn't sure if Keating had a pair, and proceeded to count his outs against a better pair which numbered 14. He asked why Keating would overbet all-in with a hand like aces or kings and eventually, he stuck in the chips, saying something to the effect of "F*** it, let's go." And go they did, to the river.

The 4 river gave Yong trips to score him the $467,300 pot. Keating, who was making his PAD debut, got a painful introduction to the show, though it appeared from his calm reaction to the final card that he felt no such emotion.

Tilly summed up the hand best: "No guts, no glory. That was a ballsy call, Rob." Soon after, Keating returned to the game with $1 million in chips to spice things up just a little bit more. Watch the rest of the episode on PokerGO to find out whether he'd be able to get his money back.
