Triton Poker is no stranger to big buy-in tournaments with its Super High Roller Series events being nothing short of massive. On Aug. 1, however, history will be made as the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series is hosting the largest buy-in poker tournament ever run.
The Big One for One Drop holds the current record for the largest buy-in poker tournament with its €1 million buy-in. This Triton event features a £1 million buy-in, the equivalent to more than $1.25 million at current exchange rates.
Taking place at the five-star London Hilton on Park Lane from Aug. 1-3, the Triton Million takes the series to new heights. All entrants have to donate £50,000 to the Triton Million Helping Hand for Charity cause in addition to the astronomical £1 million buy-in.
There is a unique format to the Triton Million in that the tournament is by invitation only. Businessmen and woman from around the world have been invited by Triton Poker, and each invitee nominates a guest, usually in the shape of one of the world’s elite poker players. These businessmen and women are recreational poker players who have huge bankrolls, which should make for a superb tournament that has an equal share of avid poker players and legitimate superstars.
Should you have a spare £1,050,000 laying around or down the back of the sofa cushion, you can request an invite via [email protected] and their customer service team will contact you.
Among the confirmed recreational players are Triton Poker co-founder Paul Phua, major Hong Kong investor Stanley Choi, Dusk Till Dawn owner and partypoker's Rob Yong, and four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Bobby Baldwin.
As you would expect, those representing the professional poker players read like a who’s who of the game. Tom “durrrr” Dwan will be in action alongside the likes of David Peters, recent WSOP bracelet winner Stephen Chidwick, and partypoker sponsored duo Jason Koon and Sam Trickett, the latter being invited by DTD’s Yong last week.
