Poker tournament players will now have another route into the partypoker LIVE tours. partypoker announced that it's set to host online Day 1s and Day 2s to their live events.

Live poker tournaments often span several days, resulting in non-professional players needing to take time off work. Players also incur travel and accommodation costs if they wish to compete in major live tournaments. This new concept reduces the time and costs and allows more players to play in partypoker LIVE events.

Dusk Till Dawn owner and founder of partypoker LIVE, Rob Yong, said the innovation will “bring more people into Main Events and allow them to win titles.”

partypoker will host an online Day 1 and Day 2 in a single online flight, while the live Day 1 and Day 2 takes place at the host venue as usual. Every player who navigates their way through to Day 3, regardless of them progressing from online or live, will already be in the money. The Live Day 3 and Live Final Day both take place at the host venue as in a traditional poker tournament.

Tom Waters, the Managing Director of partypoker, said: “This is a great concept, and the fact that players will not have to travel to a live event until they are in the money is brilliant. It means more flexibility for players and will save them on travel and expenses. We’re trying to make our tournaments more accessible, and I really hope this idea is a success, helping those players that find it difficult to take time off work, as well as reducing costs for everyone.”

This is the latest innovation from partypoker and the partypoker LIVE after they introduced PP LIVE Dollars, a flexible currency used on the partypoker LIVE tour.

Players can win PP LIVE Dollars via online satellites at partypoker and then exchange the flexible currency for tournament buy-ins, travel expenses or hotel costs. PP LIVE Dollars have an expiry date of 24-months, giving partypoker’s players the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to playing on the partypoker LIVE tour.
