WPTDeepStacks Tampa Final Table Action

The final day began with the nine final table hopefuls battling it out for a $120,842 top prize.

According to the WPT blog, Dan Chalifour began the day with a small chip lead against the eventual winner Trudeau.

On the second hand of the day, Trudeau snagged the lead after Chalifour doubled up the short-stack held by Peter Walsworth.

Shortly after, Alex Kimpel hit the rail in ninth place for $11,783 when he jammed five big blinds with pocket fives and didn't win a flip against Walsworth's ace-jack suited after a jack spiked the turn.

Ryan Anderkin was the next to go in eighth place for $15,689 when his king-ten suited didn't get there against the king-jack held by Saj Illikal.

Despite some early success, Walsworth's good fortunes came to an end shortly after. He check-jammed with two-pair on the flop holding queen-five and got a call from Fabian Foster with a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw holding ten-eight suited. The straight was completed to eliminate Walsworth in seventh place for $19,704 and Foster took over the chip lead.

Mark Scacewater was down to less than a single big blind and was out in sixth place for $23,776 when his ten-four didn't get there against Foster's queen-three. Wendy Vo was also in the hand with five-four suited but didn't sacrifice many chips as she merely completed the big blind and the board was checked down on all streets.

The chips kept piling up for Foster after he eliminated Day 3 chip leader Chalifour in fifth place for $29,712 on a bad beat. Chalifour got it in good with top pair on the flop holding jack-ten after Foster called with five-four suited with middle pair. Foster improved to two-pair on the river to end Chalifour's run in the tournament.

Vo was hot on the final table winning eight straight all-in hands in a row. It became nine in a row to the dismay of Illikal. The latter was eliminated in fourth place for $38,765 after his sevens couldn't win a flip against Vo's big slick.

Foster entered the final three with a small chip lead against Trudeau before he extended it to have more than half the chips in play.

Vo chopped her tenth all-in situation in a row but her luck eventually ran out. She was eliminated in third place for $53,259 after she three-bet jammed with jack-ten and couldn't get there against Foster's king-ten.

Epic Heads-up Battle

Foster entered heads-up play with a nearly 2:1 chip advantage against Trudeau in what proved to be an epic heads-up battle. Trudeau narrowed the gap before he eventually took the chip lead.

Shortly after, Trudeau extended his chip lead to a 5:1 advantage when he capitalized on some big river betting holding jack-eight for a full house against the top pair held by Foster with king-nine. It wasn't quite over yet as Foster doubled twice to bring the stacks close to even before taking the chip lead back a short while later.

Trudeau ended Foster's momentum in a big way after both players were all in on a queen-high flop. Foster held top pair with queen-five but needed some held with Trudeau also holding top pair albeit with a better kicker; king-queen. No help came and Foster was left with just seven big blinds; his opponent holding a more than 8:1 advantage.

It didn't end there when Foster battled back and eventually brought stacks closer to even yet again after he doubled with nines against ace-six suited. However, three hands later, the back and forth heads-up battle came to an end.

Foster three-bet jammed with ace-eight and took the runner-up prize of $82,627 after Trudeau called with jacks and the board brought nothing but blanks.
