CSOP to Host Planet Hollywood Charity Event July 5 to Benefit Three Square Food Bank
On Friday, July 5, the biggest tournament in Las Vegas will be Day 1c of the 2019 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event. However, just down the road, there will be another tournament taking place for those not in action at the WSOP.
The Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) will hold its 23rd charity event, dubbed Full Houses of Food, at London Club on “the Mezz” inside Planet Hollywood. The festivities will include an open bar with 7Five Brewing Co. beer and delicious appetizers from 3:30-5:00 p.m. PT. Guests will who aren’t playing the tournament are welcome to join the reception for a $100 donation to Three Square Food Bank.
“This event is a special one for me because it was the CSOP’s inaugural event and marks the start of every new season for us."
At 5 p.m. PT, a $300 buy-in ($100 rebuys and $100 add-ons) charity poker tournament will kick off. The winner of that tournament will take home $10,000 in cash, while other prizes will be awarded including a $1,000 bonus for the player with the most chips at the end of registration, as well as the same amount for whoever has the most rebuys. There will also be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle drawing and karaoke starting at 8 p.m. PT.
Players can get more information, pre-register online, and bid on silent auction items from anywhere in the world via 3square.givesmart.com.
A Golden Knight to Attent
Among those confirmed to attend are a slew of poker pros and other celebrities including Frank Kassela, Lacey Jones, Chance Kornuth, Matt Stout, Lexy Gavin, Dutch Boyd, and Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon. Additionally, Vegas Golden Knight star Ryan Reaves will be there to play the tournament and sign autographs
“This event is a special one for me because it was the CSOP’s inaugural event and marks the start of every new season for us,” said CSOP Founder Matt Stout. “Food banks have always been some of my favorite causes to support. We’ve run this event five times and netted five figures for the food bank every time. Now we’re blessed and grateful to have the support of the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation and players like Ryan Reaves who donate time and money to help us do good, better.”
Established in 2007 to provide hunger relief, Three Square Food Bank offers wholesome, nutritious food to nonprofit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites that serve a wide range of Southern Nevadans.
The first-ever CSOP event was held at Planet Hollywood back in 2014 and raised nearly $15,000 for Three Square. The following year it ballooned to $42,000, while most recently the charity event raised $57,500 last summer.
