Bernard Lee Tells Compelling Poker Tale on 'Stories from the Stage'
Poker player Bernard Lee is a man of many hats - host of his own radio show and podcast, charity event organizer, commentator, book author, contributor to various publications including PokerNews - and now he can add storyteller to that list.
On Monday, June 4, 2019, Lee was featured on a national television series, Stories from the Stage, which airs on the WORLD Channel. The show features masterful storytellers presenting an original tale for a live audience, each episode following a specific theme. Lee's story appeared on the episode "For the Win."
"[Lee] worked hard to create a compelling story," said Patricia Alvarado Núñez, the show's co-executive producer. "We love to see first-time tellers, like Bernard, flourish on our stage."

For the Win
The selection process for storytellers on the show is stringent, and Lee put several hours of work into preparing for the performance. As he says in his pre-story interview (minute mark 9:40-11:25), his story shows the importance the support of his family - and specifically his wife - has played in his ability to make it as a professional poker player.
"Being able to incorporate my deep run in the 2005 WSOP Main Event and my family made this truly an experience I will never forget."
"This was an incredible experience for me and I have a profound respect for all of these storytellers," said Lee.
"I am very thankful to everyone associated with the show who worked with me on my story and helped bring the entire broadcast together. Being able to incorporate my deep run in the 2005 WSOP Main Event and my family made this truly an experience I will never forget."
Bernard Lee is back at the World Series of Poker, currently playing in Event #3: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw. You can follow updates for the event right here at PokerNews.
