PokerStars is gearing up to deal its 200 billionth hand, which is 200 with nine zeros following it - an impressive number indeed. Several promotions are running to help the online poker giant celebrate the milestone with their customers, including guaranteeing everyone dealt into the 200 billionth hand $10,000.

The first real money hand dealt by PokerStars was in December 2001 and it reached 10 billion hands in May 2007. It only took another five years to get to 100 billion hands (June 2013) and that number is about to be double.

Our friends at Poker Industry Pro ($) did some calculations and reported that PokerStars deals approximately 17.5 billion hands every year or two million hands per hour every hour of every day.

PokerStars expects the 200 billionth hand to be dealt on May 1. Everyone who is dealt into the 200 billionth hand will receive $10,000 cash, regardless if they are playing in a cash game or tournament, whether they win the hand or fold preflop, $10,000 will be theirs. And that's not the only promotion going on.

Cash Game Surprises

Cash game players who hit the tables between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET until April 30 have a chance to receive a surprise chest. These chest are being dropped onto tables at random intervals and you get to open the surprise chest if you win the hand.

Opening the surprise chest gifts a prize worth 20 times the big blind of the table it is dropped at.

Milestone Tournaments

Tournament players can also get in on the celebrations by entering one of 56 daily tournaments and four Sunday majors, including the Sunday Million. One table in each of the tournaments is randomly selected to receive a ticket drop where PokerStars gives everyone at the table a Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) ticket worth between $2.20 and $215.

$200,000 Mega Freeroll on May 1

A $200,000 Mega Freeroll is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET on May 1 and bagging yourself a seat is simple. Play at least one hand at any real money table before May 1 and you’ll receive a special chest with your freeroll ticket inside. All you have to do is open this chest on May 1 and register for the $200K Mega Freeroll.

This should really be called a $230K freeroll because PokerStars is randomly dropping $30,000 worth of SCOOP tickets throughout the tournament to sweeten the pot.

200 Billion Hands Celebration Wheel

Another promotion for the 200 billionth hand celebrations is the 200 Billion Hands Celebration Wheel where you can win a daily spin every day until May 1. Play at least one hand of real money poker and you’ll receive a ticket to a spin of the 200 Billion Hands Celebration Wheel via a pop-up. Use your free spin and receive one of the prizes below; every spin guarantees a prize.

Stars Store Giveaways

The final piece of this promotion can be found at the Stars Store, where PokerStars is currently giving away random free swag for a limited time. There are no strings with these giveaways as PokerStars is even covering the cost of shipping. If you want to help celebrate the 200 billionth hand milestone with PokerStars, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
