PokerStars is rolling out a special Sunday Million on April 14.

The world's largest real-money online poker room, PokerStars, is about to celebrate the 13th anniversary of its iconic Sunday Million tournament by boosting the guarantee from $1 million to $10 million with $1 million guaranteed to the winner in a special tournament on April 14.

The tournament will feature the old $215 buy-in, up from the $109 that PokerStars implemented in January.

The Sunday Million dates back to March 6, 2006, when 5,893 players competed for a total prize pool of $1,178,600. Canada's "aaaaaaaa" made history by shipping the inaugural event for $173,844.

Since then, there have been more than 600 Sunday Million tournaments with over $750 million awarded.

PokerStars is understandably amped about the success of this tournament and is looking forward to celebrating its anniversary.

"We’re thrilled to be a part of this poker milestone, but the credit goes to all of the poker lovers out there who have made the Sunday Million happen nearly every week for the past 13 years, so we hope to see them at the tables on April 14," said Director of Poker Innovation and Operations at The Stars Group Severin Rasset.

This isn't the first time PokerStars has celebrated the anniversary of the Sunday Million with an eight-figure guaranteed prize pool.

Last year PokerStars celebrated its 12th anniversary of the Sunday Million with two tournaments that each guaranteed $10 million. Brazil's "Hulk9950" was able to ship the first one in February 2018 for $960,000 after agreeing to a three-way deal on the final table.

Two months later in April 2018, Netherlands' "Daenarys T" won the Sunday Million Anniversary Take 2 for $1,000,043.

Qualify for Under $1

Players can qualify to the $10 million guaranteed Sunday Million in satellites and limited-edition Spin & Go's at PokerStars starting at just $0.90. PokerStars will also soon be hosting $15 daily satellites that each will guarantee 100 seats into the big event.
