On Tuesday, the World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas ended with the completion of the $1,700 Main Event, a tournament that drew 518 runners and created a $784,770 prize pool.

Travis Dorsey Wins the Main Event for Ring No. 3

Texas’ Travis Dorsey closed out the tournament to capture a $168,722 top prize, his third gold ring, and a coveted seat into the 2019 Global Casino Championship.

According to updates from the event, Dorsey scored every elimination from five players on down, including that of Ryan Tosoc in heads-up play. It happened when Dorsey four-bet all in holding the A8 and Tosoc called off with the KJ. The board ran out 21033Q and Tosoc had to settle for second place and $104,319 in prize money.

“It feels good, I get to play in the WSOP Global Poker Championship and I can also catch up on some sleep,” Dorsey said after the win.

Both of Dorsey’s other gold ring wins came back in 2015 at the Harrah’s New Orleans stop. First, he won Event #9: $580 NLH for $35,992 and a few days later took down Event #12: $365 NLH for $18,750 and his second piece of gold.

Others to cash the WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood Main Event were Barry Shulman (12th - $12,627), Dan O’Brien (21st - $7,181), Ankush Mandavia (34th - $3,633), Ben Keeline (52nd - $3,014), and Nick Pupillo (54th - $1,507).

Likewise, on the final day of the series, 2017 Global Casino Champ Sean Yu won Event #12: $400 NLH for his fourth ring, while Dylan Wilkerson claimed the Event #14: $400 NLH One-Day title for his third.

Finally, Nirath Rean, who finished 22nd in the WSOP Main Event back in July, defeated Joseph Cheong heads up in the $2,200 High Roller to win $58,802 and deny the former November Niner back-to-back high roller titles at Planet Hollywood.
