Some poker players burst onto the scene, enjoy some success, and then fade away into the distance. Not Jordan “JWPRODIGY” Westmorland (lead photo). He has been grinding away for the past decade, accumulating cashes with relative ease, and this weekend was no different.

Among his impressive results on Nov. 11 was a victory in the PokerStars Hotter $215 for $17,087 and a fourth-place finish in the High Roller Club: $1,050 Sunday Supersonic for an additional $18,403. The Thailand-based pro also finished fifth in the partypoker Sunday Main Event High Roller: $150K Gtd for $9,000 and took down the Sunday Bounty Hunter: $30K Gtd 6-Max for a combined score of $8,294, also at partypoker.

Westmorland now has more than $5.3 million in online poker tournament cashes and a further $735,000 from his live play.

The biggest winner this weekend, however, was Argentina’s Ivan “ivanvilchez8” Vilchez, courtesy of taking down the PokerStars Sunday Million. Let’s take a look at that massive event first.

Ivan “ivanvilchez8” Vilchez helped himself to his biggest online score to date after outlasting a field of 5,695 players in the PokerStars Sunday Million. This colossal crowd created a $1,139,000 prize pool that was shared among the top 998 finishers.

Everyone was guaranteed $9,048 by the time the final table was reached, and this is the sum eighth-place finisher “AKK_Zen” collected. They were joined on the rail by the United Kingdom’s “OLDWOLF133”, “blazinchron” of Canada, and Brazil’s “Pardal77”.

Fifth-place and a cool $37,308 went to “mraink”, and they were followed to the rail by Malta-based Italian “easylimp” who netted $53,163 for their troubles. Brazilian sensation Felipe “lipe piv” Boianovsky crashed out in third-place, sending the tournament into the heads-up stage where both players were guaranteed a six-figure score.

Vilchez found himself heads-up against another South American in Uruguay’s “notbacked”. No deal was struck, so this battle was essentially a near $46,000 heads-up sit and go! Vilchez was the man who was the last player standing so collected $153,830 while runner-up notbacked added $107,949 to their bankroll.

The High Roller Club: $2,100 Sunday High Roller attracted a star-studded crowd with this weekend’s reading like a who’s who of online poker.

Any of the nine finalists would have been a worthy champion, but it was Sweden’s Anton “anteen” Bertilsson who emerged victorious to turn his $2,100 into $47,008. Bertilsson’s victory came after he defeated fellow Swede Viktor “Isildur1” Blom heads-up for the title; Blom banked $36,103 for his second-place finish.

Earlier at the final table Jack “jackziyang” Salter finished in ninth-place for $5,690 and was joined on the rail by Ivan “Negriin” Luca in eighth-place, a finish worth $7,409. Russia’s “Black88” exited in seventh-place for $9,647 and was the last player to not walk away with five-figures to show for their efforts.

“P0KERPR02.0” busted in sixth-place for $12,560 before David “MissOracle” Yan ran out of steam in fifth-place and locked up $16,356.

Four-handed play ended with the elimination of Cyprus’ Dimitri “MITS 304” Michaelides with heads-up set when Team PokerStars Pro Igor “IgorKurganov” Kurganov busted in third-place. Michaelides netted $21,296 with Kurganov walking away with $27,728.

Bertilsson then defeated Blom heads-up for the title and the lion’s share of the $204,000 prize pool.

A compact field of 48 entries competed in this week’s partypoker Sunday Super High Roller: $100K Gtd. The field was smaller than usual due to the 2018 Caribbean Poker Party dragging hundreds of partypoker players to The Bahamas for the massive live festival.

Conor “ADRIEN_BRODY” Beresford took full advantage of the smaller field by triumphing over his opponents to scoop $45,000.

Only the final six players received prize money with Simon “HellmuthTheGr8” being the first player to cash, his sixth-place finish adding $7,200 to his bankroll. Russian superstar “PhileasFogg” then fell in fifth-place for an $8,400 score.

The first five-figure haul went to “HULKMAN85” when they busted in fourth-place for $10,800 while “savageplenty” walked away $18,600 richer courtesy of falling in third-place.

Beresford and “frippu” locked horns heads-up for the title and it was Beresford, who finished second in this tournament last week, who emerged from the fight unscathed to claim the top prize, resigning frippu to a $30,000 consolation prize.

$12,750 was the prize awarded to “DeuceofDuc0” while “MOTHERSMATT” netted $18,000 when they fell in third-place. The player of the hour, however, was pockjack0 who defeated “Specter_Litt” in the one-on-one battle to resign Specter_Litt to a $24,750 second-place prize.

Canada’s Alex “Dynoalot” Difelice banked a cool $19,943 after outlasting 517 opponents in the 888poker $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep.

Difelice was joined at the eight-handed final table by a plethora of star, including Swedish duo Niklas “tutten7” Astedt and Anton “anteen” Bertilsson. Astedt exited in eighth-place to make the waters slightly less infested with sharks while Bertilsson went a few places deep, eventually busting in fifth-place for a $5,439 addition to his bankroll.

The top three finishers all won more than $11,000. Malta’s “KelevraJesus” saw their tournament end in third-place for $11,137 while “Moliere123” of Sweden fell at the final hurdle and had to make do with the $14,763 runner-up finish; we’re sure they’ll manage with that!

This weekend’s 888poker $50,000 Whale ended in a heads-up chop between “Svengate” and Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton who collected a combined $37,199 between them.

Only six players were paid due to the compact field of 60 entries. Latvian pro “floatmasta” was the first player to cash, their sixth-place finish winning them $3,300 and they were joined on the sidelines by “ribamech15” and “Madeon1994” who turned their $1,050 investment into $4,500 and $6,000 respectively.

Flying Finn “wellyxx” busted in third-place for a $9,000 score, leaving Grafton and Svengate to play heads-up for the title. Svengate got the better of Grafton but not before the pair had struck a deal that saw Grafton bank $2,774 more for his second-place finish than the original payouts would have awarded.
