There’s More Than Just Poker Tournaments at the 2018 Goliath
The 2018 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Goliath festival kicks off at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on July 25 and continues all the way through to Sept. 5 when the Goliath Main Event champion is crowned.
Whoever is the last player standing in the £125 buy-in Goliath will walk away with at least £100,000 for their initial investment, plus it's likely they'll be crowned champion of the United Kingdom’s biggest-ever live poker tournament.
While the Goliath is the focal point of the festival, and rightly so, there are more than a dozen side events for you to check out including the £58 Grosvenor UK Women’s Poker Championship, the £58 UK Senior’s Poker Championship, several Redtooth Poker events and a handful English Championship Of Amateur Poker (ECOAP) run by APAT.
With all these different poker tournaments to get involved with you would be excused to think that the 2018 Goliath had nothing else to offer. You’d be wrong. Grosvenor Casinos want everyone who descends on their casino in Coventry to not only have a fantastic time in their tournaments, they're doing everything in their power to ensure they cater to everyone and that each person who turns up has a ball away from the felt, too.
Around the Clock Cash Game Action
Firstly, the casino has promised to spread cash games 24/7 throughout the festival. The poker room is so vast that up to 30 tables can run simultaneously, so if you want to continue playing poker after you bust from a tournament, or you fancy trying to spin up a small buy-in into enough cash for a tournament seat, you can.
Another poker-related activity is the new daily Flip ‘n’ Gos where £125 Goliath seats can be won from only £13. This exciting format is over and done with extremely quickly because, as the name suggests, are flip tournaments where everyone is put all in and Lady Luck takes care of the rest.
Then there’s the matter of food; we all love food, right? Cooked breakfasts are available from 7:00 a.m. with the Grab ‘n’ Go food options such as jacket potatoes, pie and mash, hotdogs and burgers being served from 12:00 p.m. Wait until 5:00 p.m. and you’ll be able to enjoy a dinner buffet, while the Grosvenor Casino Coventry opens its very own restaurant at 8:00 p.m. with a full steak menu. You may not become the Goliath’s champion, but you will certainly have a full stomach!

Qualify for the Goliath Online; Time’s Running Out
Only two more online satellite are available at Grosvenor Poker and each have 30 seats guaranteed. The penultimate satellite takes place at 9:00 p.m. on July 25. It is a £30 freezeout with one hour of late registrations.
The final satellite is a £5 rebuy satellite at 9:00 p.m. on July 26. This also has one hour of late registration and 30 Goliath seats guaranteed.
