Season XVI of the World Poker Tour (WPT) just wrapped in Vegas, and the tour has already revealed its schedule for the first half of Season XVII.

Eight WPT Main Tour stops will be held now through the end of the calendar year. That includes a new event at California’s The Gardens Casino, which will officially kick off the new season from July 21-26. The $5,000 buy-in WPT Gardens Poker Festival Main Event will be the first major tournament to be held in the venue’s newly-renovated ballroom.

The WPT will then head to Oklahoma's Choctaw Casino for a $3,500 buy-in Main Event before mvoing back to California August 18-27 for the $570 buy-in, $1 million GTD WPT500 Los Angeles, which will be held at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino.

Stops in Atlantic City, Maryland Live!, bestbet Jacksonville, and Seminole Hard Rock follow before the WPT closes out the year in Las Vegas with the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio.

"The bar has never been higher for the WPT, and we look forward to even greater success this upcoming season."

“As the WPT closes out a historic 16th season, the World Poker Tour is proud to announce the 2018 leg of the Season XVII schedule,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska, who recently shared other tour plans with PokerNews. “Season XVI was our most tremendous season yet. We held our first-ever stops in Beijing, Japan, and South America, returned a televised WPT Main Tour event to Europe, and broke ground in the burgeoning region of India.”

Other highlights from the WPT’s latest season include Art Papazyan winning two titles and the Hublot WPT Player of the Year, the tour awarding its one-billionth prize dollar, and Darren Elias winning a record fourth title.
