Roman "RomeOpro" Romanovsky Dominating SCOOP with Two Wins & Runner-Up
Ukraine's Roman "RomeOpro" Romanovsky has been dominating the 2018 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) at PokerStars.
On May 9, Romanovsky outlasted a star-studded field of 132 players to ship the SCOOP-16-H: $5,200 NLHE [6-Max, Turbo, High Roller], $500K Gtd for $138,536. With the win, Romanovsky became the first player to win two SCOOP events during this festival after previously shipping the SCOOP-02-H: $1,050 NLHE [8-Max], $500K Gtd for $123,935.

The turbo-charged event featured a final table full of huge names including the United Kingdom's Patrick "pads1161" Leonard (second - $109,898), American poker refugee Calvin "cal42688" Anderson (fourth - $62,912) registered at PokerStars under a Mexican flag, and Germany's Pascal "Päffchen" Hartmann (sixth - $37,169) registered in Austria.
The following day was even bigger moneywise for Romanovsky as he took second place in the SCOOP-14-H: $25,000 NLHE [8-Max, High Roller], $2,500,000 Gtd for $442,299 after firing three bullets. Hungary's Andras "probirs" Nemeth, who is often seen playing high-stakes cash games, shipped the event for $576,087.
In addition to these three amazing scores, Romanovsky has managed four other in-the-money finishes. His utter early domination has led to him being on top of the 2018 SCOOP Overall Leaderboard with 335 points, which will award the winner a coveted Platinum Pass valued at $30,000 to the $25,000 PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship and a trophy.
Romanovsky is also on top of the 2018 SCOOP High Leaderboard with 280 points, which awards the winner a trophy and $10,000 in cold hard cash.
The Ukranian's huge SCOOP has put him close to a monumental milestone. Romanovsky is now less than $200,000 shy of becoming just the ninth player in the world to surpass $10 million in online cashes among players registered at PocketFives with their screennames.

Other Big SCOOP Winners
More six-figure winners thus far include Steve "BetrThanPhil" Tripp, who won SCOOP Event #8-H $1,050 NL Progressive KO after beating Austria's "0PIGGYBANK" heads-up. The top two agreed to a heads-up even chop, leaving $14,130 to play for, plus bounties. Tripp emerged victorious in the 1,413-entry field to pocket $100,343 plus $89,677 in bounties for a score of $190K, while "0PIGGYBANK" cashed for $86,213 plus $34,263 in bounties.
Romanovsky wasn't the only player to win big on May 9. Netherlands' "Cem1994" outlasted a field of 1,149 entrants to win the SCOOP-11-H: $1,050 NLHE [Super Tuesday SE], $1,000,000 Gtd for $183,293 after beating United Kingdom's "despedespi33", who collected $133,081 for second place.
Also winning a SCOOP High Event on May 9 was Mexico's "CAZZETTEE", who navigated through a field of 106 entrants to win the SCOOP-10-H: $2,100 Razz, $150K Gtd for $51,940.
