Sunday Briefing: Roberto Romanello Reaches Two POWERFEST Final Tables!

Prominent poker pro and member of Team partypoker Roberto Romanello enjoyed a profitable Sunday grind thanks to navigating his way to two final tables of POWERFEST events.

The partypoker POWERFEST is a 147-event online festival with combined guarantees of $15 million. Romanello was one of 137 entrants in the $2,100 Super High Roller, which saw its $250,000 guarantee beaten by $24,000.

Romanello eventually fell in fifth-place for $16,440. The tournament ended in a heads-up chop between "KONY2012" and "PrettySteph". "KONY2012" banked $56,740 and the title while "PrettySteph" walked away with $51,462.

It was in the $500,000 guaranteed Title Fight Special Edition where Romanello reached another final table. This time, Romanello battled his way through the majority of the 2,110-strong field before falling in fourth-place for a $25,200 score.

The tournament was taken down by "ABOUDIABY2" for a massive $83,500 score.

"auercan" Triumphs in the PokerStars Sunday Million

There were celebrations in part of Latvia last night after "auercan" came out on top of a 5,893 field in the PokerStars Sunday Million.

This week’s Sunday Million saw all 1,052 players who cashed in the event given a ticket for a $30,000 PokerStars Players Championship Platinum Pass giveaway all-in shootout. "auercan" could now easily afford one of these $30,000 passes thanks to taking home a whopping $159,131 in cash for his Sunday Million victory.

"Auercan"’s heads-up opponent was Uruguay’s "zavag" who collected $111,670 while Sergio "zcedrick" Aido bust earlier in the tournament before taking advantage of the re-entry policy to finish third for $78,366.

The United Kingdom’s Michael "mczhang" Zhang was the winner of the $2,100 Sunday High Roller, a victory to netted him a cool $56,111. It was a star-studded final table that homed the likes of Ole "wizowizo" Schemion, Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden, Chris "Apotheosis92" Kruk, "silentm0de", Pascal "Paffchen" Hartmann, and the runner-up "EnvomiYa."
